Another short one as active recovery today.

Didn't measure 1mile so decided to time 30mins and completed laps of the gym until time ran out...

Started with the 24kgs and dropped to 20kgs 10 mins in to save the forearms or I would have spent more time completing burpees than anything else.

And that's a wrap for a wicked 6-week pre-season block completed with the Cardiff Academy boys.

Some units amongst the squad and each one of them demonstrating professionalism throughout.

Great to see teams finally seeing the benefit of cross-training not only for performance purposes but also in order to keep athletes interested and keeping boredom at bay.

Is there any interest in an 'Engine' class for any of my clients or followers?

PLan would be to get the basics of pacing, stroke rate, speed etc on the 3 concept erg machines.
Rower
Skierg
Bike erg

Would be a weekly session getting to grips with technique, followed by a workout and then some programming throughout the week.

Over the course of your life, people come and go, some leave a mark and some dont.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a guy who has well and truly made a mark and still does to this day.

not only is the epitome of a professional as an athlete, but also juggles a full time gym and has now embarked on fatherhood.

What I witnessed last night was a testament to his grittyness and his toughness when most would crumble.

As a coach you've taught me how to perform to my highest ability, but more importantly as a mate you've been there for me whenever I've needed you to be and for that I'll always be grateful. 

One proud friend.
