24 hours. Three bars. 1.76 million kilos. For every man who said he was fine.

The number isn’t random.

Last year 17.6 in every 100,000 men died by su***de in England and Wales.

So that’s the weight we’re putting on the bar: 1,760,000 kilos, one for every man behind that statistic.

On the 10th-11th of July we’re deadlifting for 24 hours straight to raise money for the Jac Lewis Foundation, a local charity fighting to break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Three bars, side by side. One for the men carrying it. One for the people who carry it with them. One for the community. Because when a man’s struggling, it’s never just him that feels it.

1.76 million kilos is too much for any one person. Together, it’s not.

Ways to get involved:

Anys was doing everything right Monday to Friday, then writing it off every weekend.

Good all week, overboard on calories come Saturday, and the scales wouldn’t budge.

That’s frustrating when you’re putting in the work. You eat nothing but salads Monday to Friday, then Saturday hits…

It starts with a brunch out, a few snacks throughout the day and Saturday you’re thinking well I’ve done it now and sit there watching TV surrounded by chocolate wrappers

After a while you stop believing it will ever work, just like Anya did

But then six weeks on The Method changed that.

She learned how to actually handle her food instead of cutting everything out, and started lifting properly, heavier than she ever had.

She feels stronger than she’s ever been, the progress showed up fast, we helped her understand how to eat out without undoing her hard work and that gave her self belief.

In her words: “Go for it. It’ll change the way you think about exercise, show you how easy it is to build a routine, and how much you believe in yourself. You’ll see it within a month.”

Training to failure is a skill and most people are avoiding it without realising.

The second it starts to burn, your body wants to shift away from where it hurts. That’s exactly where you want to stay.

Shift off it and the tension comes off the muscle you’re working. Hold the technique and it stays where it should, in this case, the glutes.

You won’t nail it straight away. Just keep reminding yourself:
when it starts to hurt, keep everything the same.

Same position, same path, keep your technique locked in.

It’s the difference between moving a weight A to B and actually training the muscle you’re trying to hit

This is the stuff we coach on the floor every day.

Wednesday mornings 6am-7am are for the girls 🖤

A class unlike anything else on our timetable. This one’s built around lifting weights and learning the correct technique to give you confidence to step on the gym floor.

Today we kicked off a brand new block. Deadlifts are the main event, with some fun accessory work to finish off.

These women are not shying away from heavy weights OR a good time and honestly, a huge part of that energy comes from the people in the room. The members set the tone, and the tone is immaculate.

On the 10th & 11th of July we’re taking on a 24hr challenge to raise money for men’s mental health. Our goal? Get as many people confident to lift for a good cause as possible.

Meet the team.

We are extremely lucky to have Iestyn part of our team.

For someone so young he has wealth of knowledge which brings everything together.

Iestyn has spent years in a professional rugby environment and has played semi pro rugby the past 4 years. Not only that he’s ran multiple ultra trail marathons and completed Ironman wales.

If that doesn’t inspire you to show up for yourself then I don’t know what will.

Iestyn has had his own struggles, managing injuries, stepping away from pro rugby it’s a lot for anyone but he found his passion in fitness and now helping others be the best version of themselves.

HWBOD was created to bring a community together of individuals that are like minded. Someone that has walked the walk, and that is passionate about the fitness industry.

If you’ve been lucky enough to meet Iestyn then we all know how much he loves a chat, and making every person feel like they belong.

Method 3.0 is underway.

What a great evening getting some of our members together to work through key fundamentals in the gym environment.

The Method exists to give people real structure and confidence in the gym and beyond it.

Not everyone feels like they need that level of support, and that’s fine. But there’s always something to work on. Always an area to sharpen up.

We want more and more people to be able to walk into a gym and be able to train with confidence rather than seconding guessing their technique.

A lot of people stick to classes because it’s what they know and what they’re comfortable with. Nothing wrong with that. But we’re seeing more of our members push past that comfort zone and honestly, it’s brilliant to watch.

Our next Method intake won’t be until the end of July. Between now and then, you can still get into the groove immerse yourself in an environment that genuinely lifts you.

To the members who show up for each other thank you.

To the team already on The Method well done for stepping out of your comfort zone and not sleeping on it.

We definitely do all of our reels in one take 🤥

A reminder that you only see what people want you to see on instagram

Often it’s the polished version… just like our reels

But more often than not, there’s things you don’t see

Like us clowns taking hours to make a one minute reel

Or the people you think that are confident and have it all figured out in the gym, still turn up nervous and questioning if they’re doing the right thing

Luckily for you at HWBOD+ you’ll never have to guess

We’ll always be on the floor to give advice when you need it

You’ve been showing up. That was never the problem.

The problem is nobody’s ever built the programme around you.
