Today was a really testing day for clays in both sporting and down the line. The wind gust sometimes made it a lottery on the flight of the target, making a little more tricky than usual.
In the 10 bird DTL today, five shooters managed at least one perfect round to go into a shoot off.

It wasn’t all over then, Marco and Mark tied and had to go again. Marco just edged the win this time and is seen receiving his prize from Big Boss Brian. Well shot all .
More news now, we have our dates for our 50 bird winter series. They are as follows.
1st is on the 17th October
2nd is on the 14th November
3rd is on the 5th December
4th is in 9th January
5th is on the 6th February
3 out of 5 scores to count, with prizes for class winners and runners up.
Booking for these will start after our next shoot.
The county finals have also been cancelled this year due to lack of interest from all the other teams. We as a county have had a huge squad going to these annually. More than all the other teams put together!
We have now been able to have our own county final which will take place at our ground on Saturday 3rd October.
Cups and trophies for our county that would have been handed out in the finals are up for winners.
It will be a 100 bird shoot, with registered WCTSA members who reside in our county able to compete for the prizes. Anyone else wanting to shoot are welcome to join in.
You can message or comment on here for places for this event from now on and we will post regular squad updates.

What started off as a miserable, wet, Saturday morning, ended up turning in to near perfect conditions 😎
Our sporting stands were busy as usual with all the regulars and a few new faces again 👍

In the DTL, out of 20+ lines, only 3 managed to hit that magic number of 10! They were Paul Evans (TBS Junior), Mark Williams & Lee Sara Turpin.
In the shoot off it was Lee that managed to hold his nerve and win by just a barrel. Well shot Lee 👏 You can see him receiving his prize from the Big Boss Brian.

We are back on September the 19th for the next shoot.....Maybe then Marco will make the shoot off 🤷‍♂️😂

Weather was great again, not too hot. The sporting stands were busy with both old and new shooters enjoying.
We will now offer a mini taster session in sporting clays. £10 will get you 10 targets with cartridges, use of a club gun and safety gear and tuition off our great safety officers. This is a bargain for those who want to try it to see if they like it. No license required, just sign in as a club member for the day to be legally covered.
In the 10 bird down the line today, only two shooters managed a perfect round to go into a shoot off to find this week’s champion.

Great weather for shooting again today. Seems we have a new bunch of regular sporting shooters with us lately.
In the 10 bird down the line competition today, three shooters hit a perfect round to go in to a shoot off.

In a nip and tuck final, it was Marco who took the win this time with only one second barrel.
