Bore da Pawb,

A quick update & sketch forwards from the Team here at Pendine Outdoors ..

As you may have noticed .., 2024 didn’t quite go to plan (!) closing for essential works in March, & finally completing for Sept.,

We were really thankful to be operating again & it was great to welcome back schools last autumn - this was bittersweet in the sense of having had to let down schools booked over the high season - Summer 24. A definite low point.

Zooming Out : News for 2025 is that this is our last & final season here at this site, as was discovered, the building stock is not viable going forwards.., the passing of an era.

The School Camp has been operating in its current shape out of the Pendine site since the 60’s, with literally tens of thousands of children & young people having shared memories of formative experiences ‘on camp’ - for some, generations of families have come thru’ the gates.

Much to reflect on, celebrate & treasure.

This would be underscored by the conversations & messsges received as this news has permeated out ..

Looking ahead to 2026 .., the Big News is that the service itself is not ending, but merely relocating to Pembrey Country Park!

This is indeed an exciting opportunity to frame the new & collaborate with the Team at the Park.

We’re genuinely excited about this transition & are looking forward to sharing experiences & creating new memories…, well keep you up to date on the journey!

❗️All parks and playgrounds in Carmarthenshire and the Car Parks on the Millennium Coastal Park will remain closed in line with the Welsh Government’s announcement that the lockdown period has been extended in Wales for at least another three weeks. Our decision is based on the safety of visitors and our staff, and we thank you for your understanding.

Meysydd parcio mewn ardaloedd hamdden i gau

Bydd meysydd parcio ym mhob ardal hamdden yn Sir Gaerfyrddin yn cau o 6pm heno (dydd Gwener, 27 Mawrth).

Mae'r penderfyniad wedi'i wneud i helpu i atal y cyhoedd rhag ymgynnull yn unol â mesurau'r Llywodraeth i atal y coronafeirws (COVID-19) rhag lledaenu.

Yn anffodus, mae pobl yn parhau i yrru i'r ardaloedd hyn, er gwaethaf cyngor y Llywodraeth.

Bydd yr holl feysydd parcio a phwyntiau mynediad yn cael eu cau ym Mharc Arfordirol y Mileniwm, Parc Gwledig Pen-bre, Parc Gwledig Mynydd Mawr a Pharc Gwledig Llyn Llech Owain.

Mae hyn yn cynnwys:

Doc y Gogledd
Parc Dŵr y Sandy
Y Meysydd Gŵyl
Coetir Porth Tywyn

Bydd y parciau/ardaloedd hamdden yn dal i fod ar agor i bobl leol sy’n cerdded yn unig. Fodd bynnag, hoffem atgoffa preswylwyr i ddilyn canllawiau'r Llywodraeth i wneud un math o ymarfer corff y dydd yn unig – ar eich pen eich hun neu gydag aelodau o'ch cartref.

Dylid hefyd gadw pellter cymdeithasol o fwy na 2 fetr oddi wrth bobl eraill bob amser.

Car parks in recreation areas to close

Car parks in all Carmarthenshire recreation areas will close from 6pm tonight (Friday, March 27).

The decision has been taken to help deter public gatherings in line with Government measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Unfortunately, people are continuing to drive to these areas, despite Government advice.

All car parks and access points will be closed at the Millennium Coastal Park, Pembrey Country Park; Mynydd Mawr Country Park and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park.

This includes:

Bynea
North Dock
Sandy Water Park
Festival Fields
Burry Port Woodlands
Burry Port Harbour West and East
Shoreline
Pembrey Rotary Way
Fisherman’s car park

The car parks at Llansteffan beach and Cenarth picnic site will also be closed.

The parks / recreation areas will still be open to local people on foot only. However, we would like to remind residents to please follow Government guidance to take only one form of exercise a day - alone or with members of your household.

Social distancing of more than 2 metres from other people should also be followed at all times.
