What an absolutely amazing day it was today to commemorate the Golfclub's Centenary year.
The Brend Collection invited all past & current Captains to play in & /or just attend the afternoon tea afterwards.
The invitations were in recognition for the support & commitment they had each given to the club in the roles as a Captain.
38 Captains had accepted the invitations to attend πŸ‘
It was superb weather for the Individual Stableford that was played on a golf course that was in stunning condition πŸ‘
Everyone enjoyed the Halfway House 'pitstop' that Megan Hemley (Staff) was manning.
Golfclub Manager Peter Brennan was driving around the course in a golf buggy, snapping a multitude of photos. These were all displayed on the large flatscreen TV back in the Clubhouse later on.
Once all of the scores had been put into the computer then the Clubhouse staff brought out a fabulous sumptuous afternoon tea for all πŸ˜‹πŸ‘Œ
Once everyone had finished this, Peter Brennan then gave a lovely speech before passing over to
Club Secretary Jon Wilson and Club President Maggie Holmes for the presentations.
Jon announced all of the winners...
There was just the solitary two recorded today and this was by the current Ladies Captain Paula Coleman on the 5th hole. She was presented with a couple sleeves of balls for the achievement - well done πŸ‘
The Nearest the Pin on the 5th hole was won by Past Club Captain John Gough πŸ‘
The Nearest the Pin on the 18th Hole was won by Past Ladies Captain Lynn Saget πŸ‘

The Cobblers had to set their alarms for an early start today.
They had to travel over to Polzeath on the North Coast to play the return match against The Point Seniors.
Bodmin was a real bottleneck with the early morning commute, but once negotiated - it was then plain sailing πŸ‘Œ
It was quite a blustery sort of day with a couple of light showers blown in by the stiffening westerly.
The course was in lovely condition and beginning to green up in many areas, the greens were stunning & quite slick.
The Nearest the Pins in 2 shots for both teams was on the usual Par 4 18th Hole. This measures 351 yards and is straight uphill.
Vice-Captain Chris Brazier was covering the Captain who was attending a hospital appointment.
After a lovely refreshing hot shower, a change of clothing, it was time to sit down in game order to enjoy the post match meal.
Everyone enjoyed the various choices available immensely πŸ˜‹
The result of the match was a comfortable win for the Home side, well played guys πŸ‘
THE POINT 7 CARLYON BAY 1
Vice-Captain Chris Brazier & Paul Siviter lost 2 & 1

Today 32 Pairs played in the Annual Captain v Vice-Captain match. It was donations as entry fees with all proceeds going into Captain Tony Plummer's chosen Charity 'The Merlin Centre'
The format was a Pairs Betterball Stableford played off 85% Handicaps. There were either a variety of chocolate bars or fruit (Apples & Bananas) to take, that was kindly brought in by both team Captains 🍫 🍎 🍌 πŸ‘Œ
The Charity NP was on the 18th hole and was to a red flag in the very front of the green. This was won by Steve Hemmings today, well done, enjoy 🍷 πŸ‘
There were plenty of sunny spells, a couple of light showers that blew through quite quickly due to the moderate NW wind.
As all the scores were put into the computer, Seniors Organiser Keith Gay had the job of totalling up each of the team scores.
There was an Eagle recorded on the 6th hole today by Past Captain Kevin Stone, when he holed out for a 2 for 5 pts - well done πŸ¦… πŸ‘
There were four twos recorded today and they each win 8 balls :
Octogenerian Pete Hayward (5th)
Past Captain Kevin Stone (6th)
Stuart Hurst (11th)
Chris Diggle (18th)
well done guys πŸ‘
The final scores were CAPTAIN 605 pts VICE-CAPTAIN 602 pts so the Captains Team winπŸ‘
There is a photo posted below of Captain Tony Plummer receiving the Restormel Cup from Vice Captain Chris Brazier. (The Restormel Cup was donated by all of the β€˜Old Lostwithiel Seniors’ that were so warmly welcomed by The Cobblers when they moved here when Lostwithiel Golf Club closed)
The total amount raised was a fabulous Β£228 for The Merlin Centre πŸ‘
Today's top 3 scores were :
3rd - Stuart Hurst & Geoff Blissett 43 pts
2nd - Phil Williams & Octogenerian Major Tinder 44 pts
1st - Jeremy Barnard & Past Captain Kevin Stone 45 pts
Well played guys πŸ‘
Best of luck to the team selected to play away to The Point Seniors tomorrow 🀞 πŸ€
Finally, next week is a 2 man Texas Scramble - best of luck to all of the teams 🀞 πŸ€
