With the warm weather, please make sure you bring plenty of drinks to stay hydrated. We’ll have the doors open early and the fans on to help keep the hall as cool as possible.

Normal uniform/karate gi as usual.

Grading assessments are taking place this week, so please do your best to attend. If you can’t make it tonight, please try to attend one of our other sessions at another venue so your assessment can be completed.

🥋 SPECIAL EVENT DAY – SUNDAY 5TH JULY 🥋

We’re bringing the whole club together for a fantastic day at Haltwhistle Leisure Centre from 10:00am–1:00pm.

The morning will start with a fun training session for everyone, from our Little Dragons through to senior grades. We’ll be splitting into groups, moving around different training areas and training with a variety of instructors. It’s a great opportunity to train with different people, experience different teaching styles and, for many, enjoy training in a different venue.

After the training, there will be games, challenges, a bouncy castle, sponge games club tug of war
and plenty more activities for everyone to enjoy.

The event is completely FREE. If you’re able, we’d simply ask for a donation, with all proceeds going to charity.

If you enjoyed last year’s fun day, you’re going to love this one. We’d love to see as many members and families there as possible, so come along, support a great cause and enjoy a brilliant day with Chojinkai

📅 Sunday 5th July
🕙 10:00am – 1:00pm

Another busy week across all the clubs as we get ready for gradings
Grading slips are going out to those next week to those who are ready.

This week, every junior class has been working on something that doesn’t get talked about enough.
How you walk, how you look and how you carry yourself.

Head up. Good posture. Looking where you’re going. Making eye contact. Walking with purpose.

Good self-protection doesn’t start with a punch or a kick. It starts with not looking like the easiest person to pick on.

There have been studies where convicted criminals were shown videos of people walking down the street and asked who they’d target. Time and time again, they picked people who looked unsure of themselves, avoided eye contact, shuffled along or looked distracted. The way you carry yourself matters.

Parents, if you’re serious about helping your child avoid bullying or becoming a victim of crime, keep reinforcing these habits outside the dojo as well. Remind them to stand tall, look up and walk with confidence. Like any skill, it gets better with practice.

These are life skills. If we can teach children to project confidence before they ever need to defend themselves physically, then we’re already giving them one of the best forms of self protection there is.

Well done, Charlie🏆 Student of the Month! 👏🥋

With over 200 junior students across all of our clubs, choosing just one Student of the Month is never easy. There are so many fantastic students who work hard week in, week out.

Charlie has really stood out over the last couple of months through his effort, commitment and excellent attitude in class. He consistently works hard 👌

🔥 Busy night tonight! 🔥

A huge thank you to Allan, Noah, Tilly and Harry for running Warwick Bridge tonight, including the kumite sessions while Lewis is away, while I was over at Yewdale. 👏🥋

Both venues were busy, and as always, your help and support are massively appreciated. 💪

Well done to everybody who trained tonight – great effort, great attitude, and fantastic teamwork all round! 👊
