Now that the literal dust has settled, it is time for a Cumbria Championships 2026 recap.

First of all, an enormous thank you to all the volunteers from and the team at for allowing me to make it happen.
Another huge thank you to the sponsors and for providing us with the means to rewards the lifters for their efforts.

I had the immense honour of handling 15 lifters on the day and this wouldn't have been possible without the help from my team in the warm up room and .

A big well done to all of our first timers for putting an incredible first performance on the platform . You both showed great maturity for a first time in a singlet.

And another congratulations to the senior team for working your behind off for the last year or more! PBs, new BW lows and new NW records all over! I'm proud of you all .hunt7 .brom84 .l._1

CUMBRIA CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025

Now that the dust has settled (quite literally), I thought I would take the opportunity to thank a few people without whom the competition wouldn't have been the resounding success that it was. I am quite confident in saying that this was the best Cumbria champs since the first one in 2016.

Firstly, thank you to all the lifters who have made the trip to our little lair up the M6.

Secondly, all the staff and volunteers without whom there simply wouldn't be any competition taking place.

Thirdly, to who helped me handle the most lifters I've ever had to handle in a single day. 17 in total (plus a few adopted ones). I simply couldn't have done my job without you.

Next, the whole of crew who have been on the ball for the last few weeks sorting out the logistics and the amazing catering for the day! The feedback has been exceptional.

A special mention goes to our sponsors and .labs who have provided the prizes for the 1 place lifters and best male and female lifters.

for attempting to keep my head straight in the run up to the competition, all whilst renovating the house.

And last, but by no means least, who has been by my side from the moment we talked about running comps, keeping ne sane, as well as outside the gym, just being my friend.

EUROPEAN CHAMPION 🏆

A late write up but, at the beginning of February, .hunt7 had the opportunity to represent Great Britain at the European Championchips in Albi, France.

Since getting into the sport 2 years ago, and all the way to the competition, Jan has shown determination and displayed exemplary work ethics, without missing a training week even through illness or injury.
From not being able to getting underneath a bar at and having to spend hours gaining the strength and mobility to squat 20kg, all the way to her British records on her second competition ever, Jan's dedication never faltered.

She is an inspiration to us all and that's without taking into consideration the fact that she is 76 years young!

We're proud of you, Champ.

British Masters Classic Championships 2024 recap!!

and .hunt7 both competed at the British Championships and performed exceptionally well!

Mother Superior ( ) competed in the 63kg and, after a less than ideal lead up to the competition, managed to put it all together when it mattered the most, with a 8/9 performance.
A 80kg squat, 50kg bench press and 125kg deadlift allowed her to secure first place and to become British Champion (again) only 2 months after becoming European champion!

Jan (75 years old, btw) competed for her 2nd time ever and only 5 weeks after her first competition!!
We managed to maintain ex*****on without the need for an aggressive peak and things worked out perfectly!
Jan finished the day with a 77.5kg squat (PB and new British record, 10kg over the previous record), a 50kg bench press (PB and new British record, 10kg over the previous record), and a 110kg deadlift (new British record, 5kg over the previous one) for a first place finish, and a 237.5kg total (PB and new British record, a whopping 30kg over the previous national record!!).

Ladies, I can not thank you enough for your hard work and dedication over the last months/ years. I look forward to seeing what we achieve in the future.

May the 4th, 2024, saw the Cumbria championships take place at Strengthshack in Carlisle, our home gym, and it was a fantastic day for the team.
I had the opportunity to coach and handle 16 lifters competing on the day, from experienced to first-timers, and I couldn't be more proud of what we have achieved. The level performance and composure were second to none.
I can't post individual performance write ups due to the text limit on IG, but just know that days like these are the reasons why I love my job. The lifters are tagged in this post.

42 PBs, 4 NW records, 10 podium finishes. Unbelievable.
Another fact that I am beyond proud of is that our lifters' age spanned 60 years (from 15 to 75 years old), and I can't think of any other situation where this can happen. I am speechless. Thank you all so much for trusting me.

Some special thanks must go first and foremost to and from and all the staff at for all their help over the last few weeks as, after 8 years and 4 venues, i can say that this was the best iteration of the Cumbria Championships to date.

I extend my gratitude towards the team of volunteers who gave their entire day to help and allow the competition to happen in the first place, the cleanup crew, the media teams, etc.
