Saturday saw the second Eden Valley Junior Badminton Tournament of the season, which was brilliantly run as ever by Sheila, Dawn and the team. Thank you to them for their efforts, everyone loves the tournaments they put on.

I am pleased to say 15 players from a combination of , and Penrith Junior BC turned out, all performing well and representing their clubs and themselves superbly. Just entering is a great effort, so everyone should be proud.

And there were some great results too, although unfortunately I don't have photos of everyone.

For the girls 🎉:

- Alex C (Penrith) was r/up in the senior girls singles
- Alex G-H (EVJBC) was runner up in junior girls singles and was teamed up with Dora to win the senior girls doubles
- Dora (EVJBC) won the senior girls singles and doubles (with Alex G-H)
- Lila (EVJBC & CBC) was runner up in senior girls doubles (with Penny)
- Penny (EVJBC & CBC) won the junior girls singles and was runner up in the senior girls doubles with Lila

For the boys 🎉:

- Matthew (EVJBC) was runner up in the junior boys singles
- Nicolae (EVJBC) won junior boys singles and was runner up in junior boys doubles with Owen
- Noah (Penrith) won senior boys doubles with Oscar
- Oscar (EVJBC) was runner up in senior boys singles and won senior boys doubles (with Noah)
- Owen (EVJBC) was runner up in junior boys doubles (with Nicolae)

The Cumbria Championships took place on Sunday and it was a fantastic event. Organisers Andy, Graeme and Malcolm did a great job.

Personally, it was a brilliant day seeing so many players I've coached in action. Everyone performed well and it was so good to see everyone enjoying themselves on court. I was very pleased to win the open doubles with Luke and mixed doubles with Leanne. I'm lucky to have such good partners.

Also, I am running junior coaching sessions on behalf of Eden Valley Junior Badminton Club on Tuesday nights, 6-8pm at QEGS, Penrith. We have spaces available so please get in touch if you have any young players who would be interested in joining.

We are all systems GO! for today's adult coaching session, 4.30-6pm at the University of Cumbria sports hall on Fusehill Street in Carlisle today UoC Active

£6 for an hour and a half of badminton split between coaching and games. Come along and give it a bash 🏸

We have good numbers in the Carlisle sessions at the moment. Hoping to keep it up until the summer holidays if the players are keen!
