Each class covers dance and movement using the natural
actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, skipping and galloping,
aiding children’s coordination, creativity and self expression, moving individually
or as a group. At the end of every session the children receive a Melody Bear’s
sticker. Below are examples of Jumping Jellies session content:-
Counting Song...this is lots of
fun it tells of 5 teddy bears coming together and
hopping, spinning, marching and falling down; at the end the children count to
10 firstly whispering it out and then shouting it out loud. Jack and the Giant - based around the story but using small and giant steps,
imagining they are Jack, climbing the bean stork and turning into a very grumpy
greedy Giant
Musical development; this is began by getting the children to clap 4 times and then
whisper the numbers 1-4. We then get the children to clap out their own names to
see how the rhythm changes depending on their own names structure. We end
this section with a musical instrument song where their instruments ‘shake’ softly,
loudly and with the pauses in the songWe use different props, musical instruments,
picture cards and themes within each session. Classes often follow a theme, such
as Shapes, The Growing Flower, Helping around the Home or Counting.
