No7 our own Finn Barraclough is a national champion with Durham Lax! Finn always showed real talent as one of our first juniors and was in the men’s team as soon as he was 16. He has worked immensely hard at his Lacrosse and the whole club could not be prouder of his success! Well done to him and the entire team.

Incoming 2026 men’s tournament!

Border 8’s number 6, Saturday September 12th.

Camping, bar and catering from Friday night, the sort of fun lacrosse we should all be playing ahead of the new season! A proper social event with as much lax as you fancy. Really, just ask those who come back every year.

£175 a team (we are keeping it down, but the worlds gone to hell in a hand cart in regards to cost). Any profits go straight back into development of the game and the ground.

Places are strictly limited to 12 teams and are already filling up (via people contacting us) so get a skate on.. Camping is free, we just ask you use our bar a bit in return.

More merch this year as well.

Refs, give me a shout if you fancy a day in the lakes, we will look after you.

After a long drive, and a solid fight, Borders’ Nigel Wayne Cup Run is unfortunately over, with a respectable 6-3 loss to Mellor B

The game started off rough for Borders as we ended the first quarter 3-0 down, but the boys switched on and pulled the score line up in the second and third quarters, however with stonewall defence on both sides it was a nail biter all the way though.

Man of the match match was Majo for being an absolute unit in between the posts, and earning us dozens of turnovers

Dick of the Day was earned once again by our Captain Joel for remembering one of his boots.

Reminder that there is no juniors in the morning as the men are off to Leeds to play Mellor B in the Nigel Wayne Cup Semi Final. We’ve won through two rounds so far with a much smaller player pool than most, let’s hope we can giant slay our way to the final.

HAPPY POST!

Before anyone panics, this is actually a happy tribute to a legend who retired from reffing (and de-facto active lacrosse) this weekend to go and enjoy the sunshine in Spain. John Sharples is an absolute hero to NW and English Lacrosse and especially to us as he’s stepped in so many times to help us out. We all hope you and Pam have a wonderful retirement and guess you’ll be ripped and tanned when we next see you. If anyone wants the correct definition of a cross check, catch him quickly 😉. Impartial, professional, kind and great company.

A big thank you and bon voyage from all the lads! You will always be welcome at Borders.

You wont find many mid January lacrosse pitches looking this good! You’re welcome, the goalkeepers who are currently wading in mud… Ready and waiting for Wilmslow B a week tomorrow.

Big shout to all the volunteer ground keepers, unsung heroes of UK lacrosse, it’s a thankless task 😂

Today was a great showing by the boys, with a beautiful 12 man team, featuring a beautiful hospital pass goal, beautiful Scottish weather and a Team Maccies meal afterwards (pictured).

Results:
Borders v Edinburgh: 3-2 loss
Borders v Aberdeen: 4-3 win

MOM- Graham; for solid and consistent work in D (Honourable mentions go to Dan and Majo)
DOTD- Dan; for ‘forgetting’ we were playing to the red lines instead of the white. (And going out twice) (

Great work by all the boys, our next match is our cup game against Wilmslow at home in January!

Great day in Cheadle for the lads! Progressed to the next round with 10 men. Thanks to Cheadle for their hospitality and the C lads for making it a cracking game. Oh and we even found Glynn and stuck him in the photo (he is an honorary member of Borders after all).

On our way south to Cheadle this morning for our Nigel Wayne Trophy fixture against the C’s. Our only jaunt into NLL this year and some lads first cup experience against a great bunch of lads.
