Northern Heights, formerly Carlisle DanceFit, opened in 2022 with the dream of creating affordable, safe and first rate dance classes to all. We want to spread the love of dance with others and create a welcoming space to those who might lack confidence or seem hesitant. Whether you’re an advanced dancer or just starting out, we have something to offer everyone.

What is lyrical dance?
Lyrical dance is a beautiful style that combines elements of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, using music and storytelling to encourage dancers to express emotions through movement.

Dancers will develop basic lyrical technique, coordination, flexibility and musicality all while building confidence in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.

Through age-appropriate choreography and creative expression, dancers will learn how to connect their emotions with music and tell a story through their movement. 💫

We’re excited to announce the first of TWO brand new classes launching next week!

👠 Heels with Mollie 👠

Build your technique, strength and performance skills while learning the foundations of dancing in heels — including walking, balance, posture and choreography.

Expect a fun, supportive and empowering environment with influences from Commercial, Jazz and Cabaret. Whether you’re new to heels or looking to develop your skills, this class is for all abilities.

One week until we reopen! 🎉

We’re so excited to be starting back next week and we’re kicking off the new term with a big Open Week.

Expect balloon arches, treats, special welcome packs and a few other little surprises along the way.

Open Week is for both new and existing students and students are welcome to drop into new classes throughout the week completely free of charge.

Due to the large number of enquiries we’ve received over the holidays some classes are already full. We don’t want to overbook these classes but you can still request to be added to the waiting list. Availability can change quite quickly at the start of term so spaces may become available.

If you’ve already messaged us about a taster session please don’t worry if your chosen class is currently showing as full — your taster is still booked in.

We are so excited to announce that our September timetable has been finalised and our books are officially OPEN! 💃✨

We have an incredible year ahead packed with exciting opportunities and we can't wait to welcome both new and returning dancers.

A huge welcome to our brand new teacher, Mollie Coyne, who will be joining our team this September. We are thrilled to have her on board and joining the team.

Learn how to walk, turn, kick and dance in heels! Explore exciting choreography inspired by Jazz, Commercial and Cabaret in this fun, empowering class.

👧 Ages 5–8

A beautiful fusion of Jazz and Ballet. Lyrical is a graceful, expressive style of dance that tells a story through movement. The perfect introduction for young dancers looking to develop elegance, technique and creativity.
