A gorgeous day for learning all about open water planning and how to read the wind and water. Skills included weather app and interpretation of wind and then factual observations and the difference between the two. Equipment check and wind direction and how it should influence your plan and direction of paddle and how to use the shoreline to protect you from those pesky gusts. Reading the lake and planning your launch according to possible wind direction and what happens when it changes ?? And lastly: what does force 3 and force 4 feel like on open water and how to change your paddle stroke to be effective xx An awesome morning with these two lovely ladies who travelled from Bolton and Leeds 🙌💪🩷🎉🏄🏄🏄🏄

journey planning, attire, secure fitment of PFD’s, kit, weather forecasts, visual risk assessing, stance, technique, manoeuvrability, evasive manoeuvres, breaking a fall, hazard awareness, safety awareness, environmental awareness, dynamic risk assessing and self-rescue.
