Reivers Blacks vs Carlisle City
League Cup

WOW! This game has everything, and if I put everything I’ll probably get told off, fined and banned 🙃 2 teams absolutely mad for it leaving everything on the pitch tonight, unbelievable from both teams 👏🏻

Reivers are a team we know well, very tough & physical team so we had to use the ball well and we did that unbelievably in the 1st half. Jaks and Jack down the left causing all sorts of problems for reivers. Jaks almost got the 1st goal 5 mins in when Freddie played a ball into Sanko who fizzed across the face of goal where Jaks just got a toe to it putting narrowly wide. Freddie had one cleared off the line and Oliver hit the outside of the post after a mazy run between 3 defenders. The boys were knocking the ball about and possibly could’ve had 2 or 3 in the 1st half but the keeper made some great saves. 23 mins in and calls for offside were waved away after Louisiana poked home to put Reivers up at the break, devastating for the boys after one of the best performances of the season so far.

Mati and Jack came off at half time due to injuries and the boys started as they left the 1st half, that man Jaks pouncing on a loose ball in the box to get a goal back. Reivers kicked off and within 2 mins had another! Usually the boys heads would drop but teams like reivers bring the best out of them, we have to match them and we did 💪🏻 Oliver found time and space to turn and played a ball into.. you guessed it.. Jaks equalised for City! A shot by Oliver was blocked leaving the keeper on the floor away from goal, unfortunately it landed to Jaks who doesn’t have a right foot 😂 Reivers retreated well to block the shot. Preston and Freddie were out of this world tonight in midfield and Preston had a left footed pile driver brilliantly saved by Reivers keeper 👏🏻

The game took a turn 10 mins from the end and this is were I’d get into trouble 😂😅 couldn’t be more proud of the boys tonight! They’re always told there is ways of loosing games and tonight was that night, grafted 110%, never gave up and worked for eachother 💪🏻 Good luck to Reivers for the rest of the season ⚽️

Two top teams went to battle last week, the other two go to battle tomorrow 💪🏻 only 1 team progress to the quarterfinal! These games never fail to excite.

Carlisle City Vs Newlaithes

Delightful morning down at Gillford Park where the boys turned up stiff as boards and a few clem heavier but they dug deep playing some really good football.

1st few minutes and Jaks was set free who cut in onto his left and curled one into the far top corner 👏🏻 Mati pushed forward from CDM and just like Rodri only scores screamers he blasted a 1st time shot into the bottom corner scoring against his old team! Freddie took a corner and for some reason Jigz was nearly at the edge of the box 😂 he bounced back to Fred who clipped a ball over the keeper, the boys said it hit the back stanction and came back out but the referee said no goal. Newlaithes dug in and pushed us hard until half time.

2nd half “game changers” came on and Oliver instantly made an impact getting his 1st of the game. Newlaithes kicked off, the boys pressed well and nicked the ball back, Jack played a great ball into Preston who calmly side footed into the far corner, some really well worked goals this morning. Goal of the game has to be when Oliver dropped into midfield and played an unbelievable ball through 3 orange tops into Jack who was there to put it past the Newlaithes keeper. Not to be Freddie’s day, the only way we can describe it is that goal that wasn’t given for Lampard vs Germany in the 2010 World Cup! Freddie lined up the shot, it hit the bar, landing over the line not to be awarded the goal, luckily Freddie found the funny side 😅Oliver grabbed another 2 securing a hatrick.

Oliver and Jaks goals this morning means they have scored over 50 goals in 15 games between them! Unbelievable from the young lads 👏🏻🩵

Thank god for that, the wait is almost over! A month of no football the boys return to action on Sunday with a home game Vs Newlaithes ⚽️ there’ll be more rust on Gillford Park than there is Blackpool tower on Sunday morning 😂

Finishing off the year well 💪🏻 But we believe this recognition shouldn’t need recognised and celebrated in kids football the way it is nowa days.

Carlisle City vs Warwick Wanderers Reds

Another late pitch inspection for this morning with the over night rain but the ground drained well.

After yesterday’s game the boys carried on that intensity and started really strong. Some good play down the right with Leighton and Sanko, Jack at left back making endless overlaps causing plenty of problems for the Red defence. The boys struck first blood when a corner landed to Freddie who put it into Leighton, with 3 men round him he somehow dazzled the spectators with some quick feet and slotted past the Warwick keeper, great finish by a lad who’s just growing in confidence every single week 🩵 We kept pushing and Sanko grabbed one for himself when the keeper saved his 1st shot but always alive Sanko was there to have another go. Our midfield maestro Fredinho 🇧🇷 struck gold edge of the box, his scuffed shot somehow went right through into the bottom corner, calls Sanko got the final touch but neither agreed 😂 Sanko let Fred have the goal “because he already has one…” 🩵

2nd half with a depleted team again our only sub was Oliver who came on for Josh, his instant impact managed to get on the score sheet. Warwick were working hard all morning causing Noah a few problems in nets. They scored goal of the game when a loose pass was picked up in midfield, a first time ball to their striker who still had a lot to do and curled it over Noah into the top corner, great finish by that young man 👏🏻 Freddie had another chance from a quick corner, edge of the box he curled it into the far corner only to come back off the bar.

Another good game for both teams and good to see Warwick Reds today after not been fixtured together for a while 🤝

LittleTekkers Football Academy vs Carlisle City

Early start for the boys this morning with a 9am meet at Raydale Park. Kick off was pushed as far as we could take it with the lying frost on the pitch but the morning sunshine just made it playable ☀️

The boys took the lead in the 1st few minutes when Sanko set Jaks away to beat the keeper 1 on 1. Little tekkers pulled one back shortly after but Jaks grabbed another just before the end of the 1st 20 mins to take us into the break a goal up.

2nd 20 mins and the intensity was relentless, the boys were flying, Oliver having a couple efforts on goal but the tekkers keeper was equal to them. The Gretna outfit had a burst of energy and grabbed 2 goals at the end the 2nd 20 mins.

3rd and final 20 mins the boys just switched off and little tekkers started knocking the ball about really playing some good stuff notching a couple more. We replied with a thunderbolt from Leighton, ball landing to him from a cleared corner, 25 yards out on the angle, as soon as it left his boot we knew where it was heading 👏🏻 just a shame the goals tally doesn’t count for friendlies 😂🙈

Cheers to Little Tekkers and no doubt we will meet again soon. A match played in the right spirit, great little team with a good group of lads ⚽️

Two games for the boys this weekend 💪🏻

Tomorrow morning we cross the border and take on Little Tekkers Academy at Raydale Park, home of Gretna 2008.

Sunday is a home game vs Warwick Wanderers Reds with a 10am KO.

🎄 🎅 LAST SESSION OF 2024 🎅 🎄

The boys finished the year on a high and wore Xmas jumpers for the final training session of the year tonight 🩵 hopefully Santas going to be good to them… 🙈
