Carew Airfield Junior Duathlon

So, we’re going for it!
The weather forecast seems to be improving all the time. Rain is still forecast, but hopefully it will ease by the time we start tomorrow. Registration opens at 7:30am, transition opens at 8:00am and first race is 9:00am. We aim to finish by around 11:30am!

Registration is likely to be indoors. Face masks must be worn indoors. Anyone displaying COVID symptoms will not be allowed to race. Please consider others!

An email will be sent later on with more information, course/route details. See you tomorrow!

With tomorrow’s forecast in mind, we will make a decision by 12noon. There is heavy rain forecast, strong winds and chances of thundery showers 🙈 safety is paramount!

We’re in discussion with the Chief Technical Official and site owners and will advise parents/athletes as soon as possible!!

Final details will be published and emailed out tomorrow. Thank you for your patience. Those that entered in 2020 will not appear on the start list just yet, but have been transferred.

Saturday:

Registration from 7:30am. Transition open from 8am. TriStars will kick off proceedings at 9am. TriStars 1 will be approx 9:30am. TriStars 2 approx 10:15am. TriStars 3 approx 11:00am.

We hope, if TO’s are happy, to have transition open for 10 minutes before each race for any latecomers. Bikes cannot be removed until all races are completed!

We hope to create a fun and safe environment and hope everyone enjoys themselves after such a long time without racing!

💻 Technical Error:

Please be aware of a slight problem on the booking form. TriStars 2 is 11-12, but shows 10-11 on the booking form, so please be aware of this when you sign up.

It cannot be change the name of the race at the moment - we will do it as soon as possible!!

Anyone signed up in 2019 can be rolled over, but please let us know so we have an idea of numbers. No youth race, but if you entered T3 and now too old, you're welcome to race in T3, but won't be eligible for podium places!

Beautiful weather today, for what should have been the 3rd junior duathlon at Carew Airfield.

It will return again, when everything passes, settles down and returns to normal.

Due to the ongoing epidemic, we have no option, but to postpone our duathlon. We are looking at a date later in the year, but it could be very hectic with lots of events being rescheduled.

An email will be sent to participants with information and options, but we really hope to stage the event at some point in 2020.

We will be liaising with British Triathlon over the next week or two with regards to our event which takes place next month. We will follow advice to ensure athletes’ health and safety is paramount!
