Cardigan 0 Milford Athletic 11

It was never going to be easy creating a 1st ever Cardigan Ladies team and entering a league the month after 😅 but that’s exactly what we have done. It could have been a cricket score but our ladies dug deep and battled to the very end and prevented that.Big shout out to our keeper and Captain Jo Watkins who took a huge knock in the 1st half carried on and took an even bigger hit in the second half which resulted in her being carried off. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Our defence was bombarded with attack after attack as legs in midfield faded but again they carried on the best they could. Yes it’s a heavy defeat but not when you think about how long this group of ladies have been together and even more so 90% hasn’t really ever kicked a ball with intent. Overall as a 1st outing in a competitive match we are happy. Lots to work on and there fitness wasn’t half bad for there 1st ever full 90 too. We host Kilgetty home next week and the ladies already know it will be as tough next week as it was this week but the only thing that will get you better at football is training and playing football and match days. Well done ladies we are proud of you all. And finally my player of the day was Katie Owen she was great at centre back and didn’t stop running. Well done Katie 💪🏽⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️
