This month’s ⭐Volunteer of the Month⭐ is Andrew Smith!
Andrew volunteers with the East Flintshire Table Tennis League in three main ways: junior coaching, fixture secretary, and organising the league’s website.
Every Saturday, he helps run the junior sessions at Northop Table Tennis Club, giving his time to set up a welcoming environment, help with the drills and exercises, and perform demonstrations so the juniors can see what they're working towards.
As Fixture Secretary, Andrew plans the season's fixtures across all the divisions, working out match dates and loading the season onto the league website.
And Andrew’s other main responsibility is the website itself. He has built it so that players and captains can enter match scores on their phones at the venue on the night, while the site also has fixtures, results, player and team stats, cup brackets, league news, and online booking for club sessions.
The commitment to ensuring that everyone truly enjoys their experience within table tennis is amazing, and the sport wouldn’t be what it is in communities across Wales without the passion of volunteers like Andrew.
Diolch, Andrew!👏
