A big well done and congratulations to Rubicon's Dance for Health Trainee Practitioners who have now completed their four month programmes with us. Thanks to Anwen, Sophie, Rhian and Emrys for supporting India and Shakeera who have work shadowed a wide range of health sessions in many different contexts.
"These last four months on the Dance for Health trainee role have taught me so much. I have learned a variety of skills on the programme. From mindfully holding space, understanding the needs of participants with brain injury, stroke, additional needs and long-term illnesses from ages 18 months- 97 years old. It's also been so helpful work shadowing experienced dance leaders who have been teaching these sessions for over 20 years! I would highly recommend this trainee role to practitioners who are passionate and eager to learn in this area of Dance for Health, and who are open to developing new skills".

“Rubicon’s Dance in Health Practitioner Training Programme has been an invaluable next step in my development as a Dance & Movement Practitioner. Across four months of practical insight, I’ve had the opportunity to learn within a huge range of healthcare, rehabilitation and community settings, supported by experienced practitioners. The programme has deepened my understanding of person-centred practice, challenged me to adapt and respond in completely new ways, and given me the confidence to step further into Dance in Health work. I entered the programme curious about where this area of practice could take me, and I leave confident in calling myself a Dance in Health Practitioner with even more questions, interests and areas I’m excited to keep exploring.”
India.
I think the above says it all! Well done India and Shakeera.
