Today marked Cardiff Met’s return to competitions for our junior program. A huge well done to all gymnasts who took part, you all did fantastic and represented the club in such a positive light. Big thanks goes to our coaches, Lance & Indy who helped the gymnasts on the floor, Joanna for judging, and parents who all helped in creating a pleasant and enjoyable first experience for the gymnasts!

It’s been a little while. Just a quick post to wish everyone a happy Christmas. Today was the last session of term, and what a term it’s been.We’ve had lots of amazing skills being done and fun being had (I only wish I recorded some of the incredible basketball shots from the trampoline today). We look forward to seeing all of you after Christmas. Happy bouncing!

Quick reminder that due to an open day on campus, our sessions will be in NIAC today instead of our usual venue.

Some good news to end the week. Sessions are now available for booking!!

Due to coach and facility availability, our recreational classes are currently only running on a Saturday. There will be 3 time slots (9-10, 10-11, 11-12), with 2 sessions running each hour. One of these sessions will be ages 6-9 and the other 10+. Each session has a maximum of 5 participants.

The first session will be Saturday 6th November 2021 and the last session this term will be Saturday 18th December 2021

For those who used to be in the club/competition groups, I will send an email about the updated training (if you don’t get it soon, contact me on the email down below)

Morning all, || Bore da pawb,

I hope this message finds you well and of course a Happy New Year to you all!!

A reminder that our 2nd Performance Block of the season (This would include our club/comp performers) should be starting on W/C18th January 2021. However, due to current restrictions from the Government, WE ARE UNABLE TO RETURN TO TRAINING as planned.

Naturally, we're responsive to Government / NGB announcements and are unsure when we can return. We will keep you updated should changes occur.

Again, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued commitment, support, and patience in what has been unprecedented, uncertain, and challenging times.

Return to Play – Academies 2020-2021

We hope you have all been keeping safe and well during these unprecedented times. Whilst it has been difficult during lockdown, it has been really encouraging to see so many of you keeping active and getting involved with the skills challenges our coaches have been setting.

On the 31st July, Welsh Government made the positive announcement that sport and leisure facilities could reopen as of Monday 10th of August. Many of our partners have started to reopen their facilities this week. The first step for us at Cardiff Met has been to return some of our athlete athletes and teams in collaboration with the National Governing Bodies. Our focus over the next couple of weeks turns to providing a revised form of Dragon Camps.

We are working hard to adapt the facilities and follow the guidelines to ensure we can return sport for our students and wider community as safely as possible. We appreciate you are eager to return to the academies in September, and we will update you as soon as we can on return dates.

Based on the guidelines from Welsh Government and each National Governing Bodies road map, some sports are likely to return sooner than others. We are working with the health and safety team at the university to review the guidelines and implement a plan to return each sport.

We will remain in contact and update you as soon as possible. Please keep an eye on our twitter and pages as well as the website for further updates.
