🔥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗡𝗗… ❤️🔥

And judging by these photos from last Thursday’s Latin Revolution…
there were quite a few people who weren’t in any hurry to go home. 😉💃🕺

Another busy night.
Another room full of people learning, laughing and dancing.
And then, once the classes finished, the music stayed on… the dance floor filled up… and Thursday night became something completely different.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁.

You might arrive thinking:
“I’m just going to try a Salsa class…”
Then suddenly you’re laughing with people you only met an hour ago, dancing far later than you planned, and wondering why you didn’t try it sooner. ❤️

And THAT is what these photos capture.
Not just a busy room.
Not just a dance class.
𝗔 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

Brilliant — that’s exactly what beginners classes are for.
Coming alone?
Totally normal. Loads of our students do.
Haven’t danced for years?
Come back.
Already an experienced dancer?
Come for the classes, the social, or both.
There’s room for you here. ❤️

𝗜𝗙 𝗔 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗜𝗦 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥… 𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦𝗡’𝗧 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗚. 👇

This is one of our Intermediate routines from last week, demonstrated by Shahid & Angeliki.

There’s quite a lot going on here — changes of direction, turns, hand changes, different positions and transitions from one movement into the next.

But when we teach something like this, the routine itself is only part of the lesson.

The important bit is learning 𝗛𝗢𝗪 to make it work with another person.

For the lead:
When does the preparation happen?
Where are you actually asking your partner to travel?
Are your hands giving information… or trying to physically move them?
Have you created enough space for the turn?
And are you already in the right place for the next movement?

For the follower:
Can you feel where you’re being led without guessing what comes next?
Can you maintain your own balance, timing and movement?
And once that foundation is there, where can you add styling and personality without interfering with the connection?

𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 is the stuff we spend time on in class.
We slow things down.
We break the movement apart.
We explain what each person is doing.
We show where the lead comes from.
We look at timing, body position, connection and footwork.
And then we put it back together.

Because there’s a big difference between being able to 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁 a routine in class…
…and being able to 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪 it naturally with somebody on the social dance floor. ❤️

That's what we're really trying to get out students to develop.

Angeliki teaches alongside Shahid on Mondays for our Improver/Intermediate+ classes, bringing her excellent eye for follower technique and styling — as well as giving the leaders plenty of feedback on the clarity and quality of their lead.

Shahid takes that same technique-first approach into the Salsa classes across our other nights.

After 20 years of teaching, I still believe one of the biggest improvements a dancer can make is to stop thinking only about 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 move they're doing…
…and start understanding 𝗛𝗢𝗪 they're doing it.

That’s when partnerwork starts to feel different. 💃🕺

𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗡…

…but these photos probably do a much better job. 😍🔥

This was Salsa Buena in Cardiff and Cowbridge last week.

Packed classes.
Smiling faces.
Loads of dancing.
And when the lessons finished… people STAYED to dance some more. 💃🕺

That tells you pretty much everything.

Because you can advertise a dance class.

You can tell people it’s friendly.
You can tell people it’s fun.
You can tell people there’s a great atmosphere.

But you can’t fake a room full of people genuinely having a brilliant night. ❤️

And THAT is what we love seeing week after week.

People coming straight from work, switching off from the day, learning something new, laughing, dancing and heading home feeling better than when they arrived.

No nightclub pressure.
No awkward standing around.
No need to already know how to dance.

Just great music, proper teaching and a room full of people there for exactly the same reason:

TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. 🔥

And right now Salsa Buena is BUSY.

Autumn always brings a big surge into the classes, and some nights are already getting very full.

So if Salsa or Bachata has been sitting on your “I really need to try that sometime” list…

Maybe stop leaving it on the list. 😉

30/09/2026

🔥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗦 𝗔 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦. ❤️🔥

You know those evenings where you get home from work, sit down for “five minutes”… and suddenly the whole night has disappeared?

Thursday doesn’t have to be one of them.

These photos are from another brilliant Latin Revolution night with Salsa Buena upstairs in Cardiff city centre last week.

A busy room.
A packed dance floor.
People learning.
People laughing.
People meeting.
People dancing.
And an awful lot of very happy faces. ❤️

Because sometimes what you need in the middle of the week isn’t another night in.

It’s music.
Movement.
People.
Laughter.

And a couple of hours where you’re having far too much fun to think about anything else. 💃🕺

That’s what Thursday nights at Latin Revolution with Salsa Buena have become.

And the best bit?
You don’t need to already be a dancer to belong there.

Never tried Salsa before? Come.
No partner? Come.
Feeling a little nervous about walking in on your own? Come anyway — plenty of people do exactly that.

Used to dance and keep promising yourself you’ll get back to it?
Consider this your invitation. 👀🔥

Because Latin Revolution isn’t really about filling a room.
It’s about filling a room with people who are genuinely glad they came.

And judging by last week’s photos…
I think we’re doing rather well at that. 😉❤️

So instead of looking at next week’s pictures thinking:
“That looks like such a good night…”

Come and experience it for yourself.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗟 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗟… 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗔 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 — 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘. 👇

Here’s Shahid & Angeliki demonstrating last week’s Improver 2 routine, built around the classic Salsa Barrel Roll.

It’s a really popular move — and a great example of why we don’t just teach people a sequence of hand movements and say:
“Right… now copy that.” 😄

Because the Barrel Roll is actually a lovely combination of some really important Salsa fundamentals.

The follower still needs to TRAVEL through the turn rather than simply being spun on the spot.

The leader needs to create the pathway, give the turn clearly and get their own rotation in at the right moment.

The hands need to give information without dragging, pulling or forcing.

The shoulders need space.

The connection needs to stay comfortable.

And both dancers still have to arrive in the right place, on time, ready for whatever comes next.

When all of that is right, the move can feel almost effortless.

When it isn’t… two people very quickly end up fighting each other with their arms. 😂

𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗪𝗘 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡.

Not just:
“Left hand up… turn… duck under…”
But WHY the hand is there.
WHEN the lead needs to happen.
WHERE the follower needs to travel.
HOW much lead is actually required.
And what both people should be doing with their body, footwork, folllowers styling and timing to make it work.

Because learning another 50 routines isn't necessarily what makes somebody a better social dancer.

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀. ❤️

Angeliki teaches alongside Shahid on Mondays for our Improver/Intermediate classes, bringing her fantastic eye for follower technique and styling — and, importantly, joining the rotation and giving leaders feedback on the quality and clarity of their lead too.

And Shahid brings that same technique-first approach to the Salsa classes across our other nights.

Moves are great.

But understanding 𝗵𝗼𝘄 to dance them is what makes the difference. 💃🕺

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗮.

Sometimes… Salsa is where the confidence comes from. ❤️

These are just a few moments from our very popular classes in Cardiff and Cowbridge last week.

People arriving after a long day at work.
People learning something they thought they’d never be able to do.
People laughing when it goes wrong.
People suddenly realising… “Hang on — I’m actually dancing!” 😄

And somewhere along the way, a room full of strangers starts to feel like a room full of people you know.

That’s the bit you can’t really explain on a timetable.

The music.
The laughs.
The little wins.
The escape from everything else for a couple of hours.
The confidence that builds week by week.

And yes… quite a lot of Salsa and Bachata too. 💃🕺

If you’ve been following us for a while thinking:

“I’d love to try that… but I’m nervous.”
“I’ve got two left feet.”
“I wouldn’t know anyone.”
“I need to get fitter first.”

Please don’t wait until you feel “ready”.

Our Beginners classes are specifically designed for people starting from scratch, and you absolutely do not need to bring a partner. We also have improver/intermediate level classes for the more seasoned (and for when you eventually reach those levels!).

We’ve been teaching people to dance in Cardiff for 20 years — and practically everyone you see smiling and dancing in these photos once walked through the door for their very first class too.

📍 Monday – Rhiwbina, Cardiff
📍 Tuesday – Cardiff City Centre
📍 Wednesday – Cowbridge
