Cardiff Softball League

Cardiff Softball League Cardiff Softball is a Co-Ed (Mixed) Slowpitch Softball league that plays throughout the summer The league season takes place from early April until late August.

The April Training sessions and League games are run every week from 6pm. Currently we have 9 teams and interested new players are always welcome to come along have a go or just watch if you prefer. Teams can often be found playing on a Sunday afternoon. These sessions are more informal and a great way to meet some of the players. The league plays at a recreational level and is ideal for anyone, m

ale or female and over the age of 18, who likes to spend sunny evening in the park! If you think you would like to have a go at playing and would like some more information, please feel free to email us at [email protected] giving a little information about yourself, sporting interests etc. Softball is a version of baseball that can be played by mixed-sex, mixed-ability teams, with the 10-a-side teams made up of 5 men and 5 women. It can be a fast moving game, lasting either 5-7 innings or 90 minutes. The batting side attempts to get their players round the 'diamond' whilst the fielding side tries to get them out in one of several ways. The fielding side has to get three batters out to end their 'inning'. Teams then reverse roles and so the game continues.

🏆 BRISTOL WRECK ROUNDUP 🏆

​What a tournament! Here is how the action unfolded across the divisions:

​Upper Cup & Spoon

​Hurricanes: Advanced after a fiery, bad-tempered semi-final and fought hard all the way to the Upper Cup Final, ultimately coming up just short against Chanclas.

​Wet Socks: Battled it out in the Upper Spoon Final, but Smashing Spuds took the win.

​Lower Wreck

​Hammers: Put on a show in the Plate Final, falling just short against Just Locos.

​Batsh*t Crazy: Fought into the knockout rounds, but were eliminated before reaching a final.

​Inglorious Batters: Had a stellar group campaign to finish joint-first in their group, but unfortunately ran aground during the knockout stage.

Huge shoutout to the Valley Wet Socks for taking 2nd place in the Wreck 2026 Fancy Dress Competition! The winners photo was so good that nobody even looked like the Wet Socks anymore... legendary effort, guys.

A huge congratulations to our resident social media superstar, Hannah, on graduating with her PGCE in Primary Education from Cardiff Met! 🎓🎉

​After building a strong foundation in educational studies and spending two and a half years as a teaching assistant in Years 5 and 6, Hannah took on the challenge of her PGCE—and aced it. We couldn’t be prouder to see all her hard work pay off.

​The exciting news doesn't stop with graduation, either: Hannah has officially landed her first class teacher role for September in Reception!

​Going from upper Key Stage 2 down to the very youngest learners is going to be a fun, brand-new adventure. Moving from Year 6 routines to just trying to get four-year-olds to stand in a straight line is a whole different ballgame—and speaking of ball games, we fully expect at least 90% of her PE lessons to somehow revolve around softball.

​Hannah, thank you for keeping our social channels thriving while tackling a demanding postgraduate course. Your energy, dedication, and heart will make you a fantastic teacher. Reception is so lucky to have you!
