We have a wide range of members, from young to old, who run with us socially on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Roath and City Centre area of Cardiff. The aim of the club is to have fun, feel healthy and achieve personal goals irrespective of whether we’re running socially or at a race. The club meets at either St Peters Rugby Club or Penylan Community Centre, Cardiff every Thursday for runs

ranging from 3-4 miles to the odd 8 to 10 miler. We meet at 6:50 pm (run starts at 7pm) and there will always be someone willing to run at your pace. We also run Tuesday night speed or interval sessions at various locations around Cardiff. It is best to check on our forum or Twitter feed () to see where we will be. Members run at anything from 5 to 12 minute miling in road races, cross country and multi-terrain competitions. We also have a contingent of triathletes and cyclists that you can train with. We compete in big races like the Cardiff Half Marathon, to smaller ones run by local clubs, to local Cross Country Leagues for a bit of added variety. Come along and try a session with us and see what you think 🇨🇷

On Saturday we had four members taking on the Vale Coastal Races In the 18.5 mile distance we had Sarah and Tom B with Bru and Tom F running the full distance. Sarah ran an amazing race despite receiving sad news that morning and finished 2nd Female and 5th Overall in the 18.5 mile distance.

Tom said “the wind was like having someone point the hairdryer on cold at your face for 4 hours. Despite that, it was somehow fun. Awesome scenery along the coast, great camaraderie, lots of ups and downs, plus jelly babies AND Jaffa Cakes at every aid station. No “better” way to spend a Saturday!”

Thanks to Craig for the cheers and photos.

Bru enjoyed the friendly race. He said “the Glamorgan heritage coast path was very scenic but quite hilly! There was a strong headwind for the second half that was brutal and even some hail at one point. Tough final hill to the finish line too but great atmosphere”.

Tom F also noted how well organised and friendly the race was with well stocked pit stops. He said “Penarth to Barry was a lovely run in the sun. The weather changed at Aberthaw with a headwind and hail meaning the second half was much more of a struggle. I was very pleased to see the finish line take off my trainers and make up the calorie deficit”.
