World at Play is a charity founded and based in Wales that works to inspire and develop young people through sport and play. Established in 2003, we partner with local organisations in Wales and the Balkans to run activity programmes, sport leader training and volunteering opportunities for young people with a variety of backgrounds and abilities, particularly those facing disadvantage in their li
ves. Our vision is to ensure that every young person has access to sport and play activities and volunteering opportunities that enable them to:
Build their confidence
Develop important life skills, such as communication, teamwork and self-awareness
Increase their cross-cultural awareness and understanding
To this end, we work towards four core objectives, which are to:
+ Increase quantity and variety of developmental sport & play activities available
+ Increase the quantity and quality of community sport & play leaders active in their communities
+ Increase capacity of partner organisations to provide developmental sport & play opportunities for their service users
+ Increase opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and understanding between young people from different backgrounds and cultures
