Brilliant things are happening at St Fagans Cricket Club, who are showing what's possible when you remove barriers and give girls the opportunity to thrive in cricket.🏏

Over the past two years, the club’s women and girls’ section has grown from around 12 participants in 2024 to more than 50 in 2026!

Sport Wales x National Lottery Good Causes investment has helped provide:

✅Shared bats, balls and cricket equipment
✅Helmets and protective equipment
✅Winter training venue hire

A huge thank you to Sport Wales and The National Lottery for helping make these opportunities possible and supporting the next generation of girls in cricket.

The future of girls’ cricket at St Fagans is looking very bright! Read the full story on the Cricket Wales News page via the Linktree in our bio🔗

🏆 End of Season Dinner 2026 🏏

Last Saturday, we held our annual End of Season Dinner at Sophia Gardens, celebrating another fantastic year at St Fagans Cricket Club.

Congratulations to all our award winners across the club including senior, ladies’ and U15 sections, as well as those recognised with Honorary Life Membership for their outstanding contributions to the club.

A big thank you to the Glamorgan hospitality team for looking after us on the night, and to everyone who attended and continues to support the club throughout the year.

A great evening to round off the 2026 season! 🏏👏

What a fantastic morning of incrediball cricket to finish the season for our girls, with honours even after two matches vs Penarth Cricket Club | Est. 1851.

The progress the girls have made this summer has been outstanding and we could not be prouder of them ⭐️🏏

St Fagans Cricket Club was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Roger Goode.

Roger was a stalwart of the 5th XI when his son James was a young player at the club - a fond reminder of the great fun enjoyed by many bringing talented youngsters through in the old Western League Third Division.

A highly respected teacher and coach, Roger inspired many young Stags, not only on the cricket field but on the rugby field too. James was of course a talent on both.

As Roger’s funeral takes place today (12noon at All Hallowe Church, Miskin), the thoughts of everyone at St Fagans CC are with James and the wider Goode family at this sad time.

☔️ Unfortunately, it’s a washout to end the season for all four sides today.

The abandonment does, however, confirm promotion for our young 4th XI. Many congratulations to the side - led admirably by Stephen Jones - after an excellent season which sees them finish as runners-up! Well done boys👏🏏🦌
