🐉 Today’s Man of the Match winners 🏑

Congratulations to Seth and Frank, recognised for their outstanding effort and commitment in today’s opening tournament games.

The results didn’t go our way, but the attitude, determination and teamwork were there for all to see. 👏

Well played, boys!

Week 1 ✅ | MAD 4 Positive Futures

89 young people.
2 sessions.
Countless smiles.

Yesterday we launched our first MAD 4 Positive Futures programme at Fairfield Primary School.

This week was all about CONNECT.

Helping young people build relationships, support one another and experience the power of belonging through sport.

One moment summed up the afternoon perfectly.

Halfway through the session, a pupil asked:

“Where can I go and play hockey after this?”

Less than an hour in and already looking for his next opportunity.

A massive thank you to Carter Lauren for supporting this programme and helping us create positive sporting experiences for young people in our community.

We’re also excited to be linking participants with Penarth Hockey Club, giving them a place to continue their journey beyond these four weeks.

Week 1 done.
Three more to go.

Developing the developers.

Last week we delivered a CPD session for Urdd coaches, supported by Hockey Wales.

Because thriving environments don’t happen by chance.

They’re built by coaches who:

• create belonging
• give clear, simple feedback
• plan with purpose
• lead with calm standards

When coaches grow, players thrive.

This work sits at the heart of our MAD Lead programme - supporting coaches to build environments where young people feel secure enough to improve and confident enough to grow.

At the beginning, MAD was a handful of sessions, and a belief that coaching should help people grow not just as players, but as people.

Since then, thousands of hours on pitches, camps, schools and community sessions have helped shape what MAD has become today.

What started as coaching has grown into something much bigger
A place to belong | A place to grow confidence | A place to enjoy the game

This is only the beginning, as we move into our next chapter as a Community Interest Company our mission stays the same

To make a positive difference through hockey 🌟

Thank you to every player, parent, coach, school and club who has been part of the journey so far 💛

A different way to train this summer.

Grab 8–10 friends and build your own squad.
Structured sessions. Clear focus. Real progress.

This group from Glantaf brought players together from different clubs - creating an environment to improve, enjoy it, and keep developing over the summer months.

Confidence grows when players train with purpose.

Today we had the privilege of supporting the Torfaen Primary Schools Festival 🏑

Days like this are what hockey should be about:
energy, encouragement, teamwork, confidence, and giving young people a positive place to grow.

One of our favourite moments was recognising one player from each school with a gifted hockey stick - not simply for ability, but for their attitude, effort, growth, and the way they embraced the day.

Those sticks were generously donated by a local business to help break down barriers to entry and make the game more accessible for more young people.

That matters to us.

Because development is about far more than performance.
It’s about helping children feel included, supported, and confident enough to keep showing up.

We’re also incredibly grateful that opportunities like this are made possible through the support of our MAD community and business champions, helping us get coaches like Ieuan, Ethan and Matty out into schools and festivals to support young players across South Wales.

If you’d like to support more opportunities like this - as a local business, partner or community champion - we’d love to hear from you.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the festival such a positive day for the players.

This is what “Making a Difference” looks like. 💚💛🖤
