Recognising the change we see in players across Wales this World Homelessness Day.

Some players have been coming to sessions for more than 7 years and have built lifelong friendships and connections with others through our weekly sessions.

Being the official Welsh Partner for the Homeless World Cup we see the impact our work has on many individuals. Some going from never engaging with services or never playing football to scoring a goal for your country, on a world stage to creating a life worth living…

We want to help progress players after the Homeless World Cup experience ends for them… Charlotte was in active treatment when she came to our South Wales sessions in 2021. Our sessions provided a safe space to be herself and after some time she was picked and named the Women’s Captain in Sacramento’s edition of the HWC in USA.
Charlotte is now a member of staff and will step out to coach the Women’s team in Mexico City in 2027, just 4 years after her own experience.

The bigger picture is this, working alongside other homeless charitable organisations and individuals is what makes our work so impactful. We could not have got through this year without them and the connections we build everyday with others grow stronger.

Help us continue to build a “home” for others through football, support our work by donating to our crowdfunder in the link in our bio.

On Saturday, we were very lucky to be invited by Maisie Adam to join her at The New Theatre in Cardiff ahead of her “whatsherface” show.
Maisie met some of the players that will be heading out to Mexico for the Homeless World Cup, chatted backstage about their experiences, excitement surrounding Mexico and how the charity has saved lives.

Of course we had to take a retro shirt with us, we all know how much Maisie and the guys over at Big Kick Energy ⚽️ podcast love a shirt.

To our surprise, Maisie wore our shirt for the whole performance, spoke to the crowd about our charity and raised awareness.

We want to say a massive thank you, Diolch, to Maisie and the crowd at The New Theatre, the funds raised during the interval will cover the cost of training for 20 players from across Wales for one week. If you were at the show or would like to donate, follow the link in our bio.

You’re a dragon at heart Maisie, see you again soon! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🎭
