The Capel Plough U9 Tigers got their season underway at home against Claydon Dragons 🐯

The Tigers started brightly and put Claydon under immediate pressure. Our forward players were all full of energy, closing down, winning ball and creating opportunities. Despite the positive start, it was Claydon who scored first. And again not long after with a controversial penalty! 👀

The match continued to ebb and flow, with both teams battling hard for possession. Tigers didn’t let their heads drop and were rewarded with goals from Cole, Bobby and Jayden. Both teams had lots of scoring opportunities, it was Claydon who continued on their scoring streak to close the game out.

Cole showed his usual versatility in attack and defence working hard all game - and even treated us to a cartwheel celebration! 🤸‍♀️

Bobby came off the bench and did a sterling job as our impact player. He was driving Tigers forward up the pitch - his persistence was rewarded with a goal.

It was lovely to see Zach’s new found confidence from preseason friendlies continuing to build. He put a shift in -challenging and working hard to win possession - it’s paying off for him and his team!

Rocco was his usual calm under pressure self, and he was under pressure a lot!!! He made so many brilliant saves and kept tigers in the game right until the end.

At the back, Jayden was a constant menace for the opposition. Strong in the tackle and super quick to react, he repeatedly won the ball back and charged in attack. He bagged himself 2 assists and a very well deserved goal! Well done to Jayden our POM 🏆 ⚽️

A tough competitive opening game. But the Tigers showed energy, resilience, bravery and great teamwork. It’s going to be exciting watching them continue to develop as the season progresses. Onwards and upwards boys! 🐯💙

Capel under 11’s started their league games with a home fixture against Sporting 87 this morning.

It was a great beginning to the season with a performance full of energy, determination and commitment. Along with some excellent passages of attacking play and resolute defending when needed.

Goals were scored by Jack M and Arthur, with Harry & Jack H being players of the match.

Harry for his all round performance in midfield and Jack H for listening to the instructions given to him at halftime and carrying them out in the 2nd half.

Thanks to all the support and Dan for refereeing.

This morning the newly promoted U13s started their season in Division 2, travelling to Felixstowe to play against their Reds team.
We had mixed results during pre season friendlies, having won 1, drew 1 and lost 1, so we wasn't sure how we would get on today.
Unfortunately it wasn't an ideal start to the season, losing the game 3-0. We had a few chances but sadly couldn't get the ball in the net. Felixstowe were simply the better team on the day, and had it not been for our Player of the Match, Goal Keeper Teddy (pictured with a make shift boot bag trophy 🏆 until a new one arrives!) the score line would have been bigger.
We won't dwell on this result, as there is a long way to go!
We would like to welcome our 2 new players Blake & Bobby to the team! Also, to wish James and Nathaniel good luck as they leave us to pursue rugby, and Oscar with his new team. Thank you all for your time with us, you'll all be missed!

The U15s kicked off their first league game of the season today against Woodbridge Town, knowing they’d need to raise their game following promotion to Division 1, and they did exactly that.

The whole squad showed great intensity, determination and togetherness throughout the match. The first half was a fairly even contest and ended 0-0, although Capel had the better chances.

The boys came out with great energy in the second half and soon took the lead from a well-worked corner, with Lewis finding the net. They continued to work hard, applying good pressure and showing some dogged defending before Henry doubled the lead with a fine header from another corner.

Capel were then awarded a penalty, which Zion confidently converted to make it 3-0 and secure a well-deserved three points.

Man of the Match went to Lewis after one of his best displays in a Capel shirt, rounded off with a goal! 🏆⚽️

A really positive start to the season and a performance that should give the boys plenty of confidence that they can compete at this level.

⚽️ CAPEL U14 – SEASON OPENER! ⚽️

What a way to start the season! 🙌

Capel U14 kicked off the season at home against Stowupland, and what a game it was!

We started the first half brilliantly, playing some great football and creating plenty of chances. Oscar produced a fantastic lob to put us 1-0 up. Soon after, Layton showed a great reaction from a corner to make it 2-0 — earning himself £5 from Dad for scoring! 💷⚽️

Nigel then made a great run and calmly slotted the ball home to make it 3-0.

Stowupland didn’t give up and battled hard, pulling two goals back towards the end of the first half to make it a tense 3-2 at half-time.

The second half was a great battle from both teams, but Capel started to find another gear. We battled hard, won the 50/50s and kept the pressure on. Oscar then smashed home his second of the game to make it 4-2! 💥

Not long after, Isaac produced a great finish inside the box to make it 5-2 and seal a fantastic opening-day victory! 👏

A brilliant first match from the whole team — great effort, great football and a fantastic attitude from start to finish. 💙⚽️

A superb performance in the middle of the pitch. He worked tirelessly, kept the pressure on, won possession and consistently looked to play the ball forwards. A really impressive performance. 👏

The U10’s played their first league games of the season this morning.

The Tigers were at home and hosting Ipswich Athletic who they had not played before. New coaches Andrew and John implemented a new formation which the boys took to like a duck to water. The work in preseason paid off and goals were scored by Joshua, Dylan and Lincoln (in his first official league game for Capel). Gabriel was MOM for his silky dribbling.

The Zebras had a 30 minute trip to Debenham to face a very organised and well drilled team. The game was very tight and competitive with chances for both teams at both ends and the match could have gone either way. Reo scored and Jaego was MOM for his disciplined display in both defence and attack.

⚽️ Capel Plough U9 Zebras v Coplestonians U9 Lions

Capel Plough Zebras U9s were up bright and early this morning for a home friendly against Coplestonians.

The boys were excited to get stuck in and the match started at a great pace, with plenty of energy and enthusiasm from both teams.

We were treated to an incredible 17 goals over the hour of football, including a couple of absolute goal-of-the-season contenders from Coplestonians! 👏⚽️

The Zebras found themselves on the back foot early on, but what was brilliant to see was the way they stuck together, kept working hard and responded as a team. From there, they played some fantastic football with great energy, tempo and teamwork throughout.

It was especially exciting to see the boys looking so switched on before the season has even officially started! 🙌

⭐️ And a huge well done to Harry, our very well-deserved Player of the Match!
