3rd week in a row at Bekesbourne and this week we welcome Faversham Strike Force Reserves. We have no doubt this will be a tough game and will be going all out for the 3 points 🙌

On a muggy Sunday morning we returned as the home team to face newly formed Unicorn Fc. We started off on the front foot. An early chance falling to Nathan, he bought the ball down at the edge of the box, cut back onto his right foot and bent one wide of the post. We continued to play well, but Unicorn were were trying to hit us on the break. With 2 center backs with the combined age of 83, they decided not to take any chances with a high line 🤣

As the half went on, Andi was causing all sorts of problems down our left side. We made it 1 nil when the ball was whipped to the back stick, Ben headered against the bar, but thankfully the ball fell to Nathan who calmly tucked it away from 6 yards out. 1 nil Bourne

Unicorn had a couple half chances, but nothing that really troubled Matty too much. We also had a couple of chances to increase our lead but we went into the break 1 nil to the good.

2nd half started pretty evenly with no big chances coming for either team. 10 minutes in we go down to 10 men after Billy sees the sin bin for daring to challenge the referee on his decision making. We drop into a 4-4-1 to try and stabilise. The game became a little bit open but we saw it out. Lucien came on for Bill and went into the 10. Harry then suffered GBH, taking an elbow to the face which resulted in a broken nose. To our surprise only a yellow was given and Harry had to be replaced by Miracle.

The game was still way to open but we created a great chance when Lucien did some good work and found himself out on the right. He got his head up and sent a deep cross to the back post, Andi tried heading the ball across for Gabe to tap in, but their keeper made a decent save and took it off Gabe's toe.

We made 3 changes and within 15 minutes we made it 2 nil. Miracle winning the ball back and driving through midfield, he slid in Trey down the right who's inch perfect cross was misjudged by Andi but it fell to Ben who smashed home to give us some breathing room.

The defence dealt with Unicorns attack pretty well. Ash came on skinned 2 players down the left. He found Lucien who clipped a cross to the back post and Ben couldn't quite get his head on it. We finally made it 3 when their defender played a sloppy pass out from a gk, Ben intercepted and smashed it straight back at their keeper who couldn't get enough behind it to stop it from going in. 3 nil Bourne

And that is how it ended, 100% record in tact. Next week we face Faversham Strike Force Reserves at home where we will need to put a big shift in to keep our unbeaten run going!!

Bit of an inside joke this one but we make it 6 points from 6 after a good win against Unicorn Fc. Another 2 goals for Ben Rowley and Nathan chipped in with his first for the club 👏 was also nice to see young Ash make his debut in adults football, skinning a few players in the process!!

There were some contentious refereeing decisions, one of our players leaving with a broken nose and only a yellow card given, but hey thats sunday league I guess!!

Back with a bang 💥 an absolute goal fest down at Bekesbourne Rec, in a game that could have gone either way!! Shout out to Bay Wall, it was a pleasure as always!! Some great finishes today from Ben Rowley and Olly Cooper, both with 2 a piece.

Olly's 2nd was a goal deserving to win any game of football... outside of the boot from 20 yards and in off the underside of the bar... special 🙌

A huge congratulations to for winning the first ever Porchlight Charity Cup. After topping the league stage, they throughly deserved the win. A massive thank you to , and for also taking part, and also for the spectators who came along too.

Next year we be back with a bigger and better tournament, but for now we give a big well done to Maidens Head and hope they will be back to defend their trophy 👏

We are looking forward to hosting our first ever tournament as a club. Porchlight does amazing work in the local community and we are looking to raise as much money as possible. If you have some free time on sunday and want to watch some good football all for a good cause, head up to Kent uni and show your support!!
