🌱⛳ THANK A GREENKEEPER DAY

Today we're taking the opportunity to say a huge thank you to Adam and our fantastic greenkeeping team at Canterbury Golf Club.

Their work is demanding throughout the year, but this summer has been particularly challenging, with prolonged dry weather and drought conditions creating an incredibly difficult environment in which to manage and maintain the golf course.

Through it all, Adam and the team have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, adapting to the conditions and putting in countless early mornings and long hours.

So today, on Day, we'd like to recognise their dedication and say a very well-deserved thank you to Adam and the entire team for everything you do for Canterbury Golf Club. 👏🌱

⛳ HOLE 10 | 453 YARDS | PAR 4

The back nine at Canterbury Golf Club certainly doesn't ease you in.

At 453 yards from the white tees, the 10th is a long par 4 and plays as Stroke Index 5, making it one of the tougher holes on the card.

It's also an interesting part of the course from a natural perspective. Ground from the 10th tee onwards sits over Thanet Sand, which drains particularly well, while the 10th green itself is affected by one of the course's natural springs.

A strong drive sets you up, but at this length there's still plenty of work to do with the second shot.

A fantastic day of golf in support of Pilgrims Hospices, bringing people together to remember John while raising funds for an incredibly important local charity.

PATHS TO PERFECTION ⛳

We’re asking our members, visitors and wider Canterbury community to help us with an exciting project to improve two key pathways at Canterbury Golf Club.

Our aim is to raise £31,500 to surface paths around the 11th and 15th holes, helping to improve accessibility and safety, reduce slips and trips, and make it easier for golfers to enjoy the course throughout the wetter winter months.

And there’s some fantastic news — Sport England’s Movement Fund has provided £15,000 of match funding towards the project.

We’ve already received incredible support, but we still need your help to get Paths to Perfection over the line.

You can support us by making a pledge, choosing one of the available rewards, sharing the campaign or simply helping us spread the word.

Every contribution can help us make a lasting improvement to the course.
