SIX WHOLE YEARS

And a job I still love

Thank you to my clients and colleagues for making it so. I honestly still love training people, seeing them progress, learn and (literally) grow

From helping some put on a few slabs of muscle, or making some gigantic lifts, to helping a couple of people get fit for the armed forces, police and some amazing challenges

And even seeing some complete mindset and confidence changes with others

Onto another year of seeing amazing progress from some amazing people

PT's and coaches can sincerely make or beak a persons gym experience, training or view of getting healthy and what it takes

When you find the right trainer for you it can yield some amazing results that can go beyond just getting stronger, leaner, fitter etc

There's a reason my business tagline is "Mind Over Matter". And it is because I know an individuals mindset and approach to challenges and problems is just if not MORE important than any motivation they have

Success requires both parties to get involved, communicate, and work together. Unfortunately, we don't work miracles, and we HAVE to manage our clients expectations of what is realistic

I have had lazy/non communicative clients. And I have people who have been open, eager to learn, and worked hard. Guess who gets better results?

Your ability level doesn't matter to start (whether brand new or already at a high level). It's whether or not you can find you work well together. If not? Find someone who does a better job for you

Where the F*** do I start?

A question many may find them asking themselves when entering the gym or trying to get into a better health and fitness routine

Hopefully this post gives some answers, clarity and relieves some of the anxiety of taking this on. Whether you are looking to get fit, strong, or make a whole lifestyle change

Keep a mindset to learn and always look to progress. For those a little more anxious? It isn't as scary an envrironment as you may think once you get started

Tracking and Progress

Being able to log your workouts is so important and beneficial if you want to see more from not only the gym but even lifestyle improvements

From training logs, to progress pictures

From race PB's to dropping body fat

So many ways to track, so many benefits. Whether it is just for yourself or to share and even compete with others

I recommend at least one or two measurable metrics

5 Year Anniversary Giveaway

It is that time of year again, for me to celebrate my anniversary of being a PT. And of course I am celebrating this with another giveaway

I'm honestly proud of making it this long in the job. By industry standards for how long people actually manage to stick to being a PT, 5 years is honestly pretty rare

I STILL love training people. Seeing them make fantastic progress both physically and mentally

Everything from simply learning to dedicate to something and apply themselves in new ways. Or to getting built and crazy strong, completing fantastic fitness challenges or trimming down and adapting their physique

So many people that are a pleasure to work with and for, thank you for another year. Both long term clients, new starters, and people that just want a quick point in the right direction

Protein!

One of many peoples favourite topic and focus to help their physiques adapt and grow more muscle

But it has a fundamental role in the body beyond just making gains. Maintenance of a well functioning body NEEDS protein, and many people are definitely lacking at least a basic intake

Hopefully this post can simplify protein for you, give you a more realistic understanding of your intake and maybe even show you a few examples of foods to add to your diet

Protein is not only the most satiating macronutrient (leaving you feel full for longer), but it will also help any of us support our lean mass AND grow more muscle. Allowing for stronger, fitter and HEALTHIER physiques

You don't need to go mad and make it 50% of your diet. But do make sure it is a key focus in your meals

Creatine is a fantastic supplement for any of us to add into our lives to boost our training, fitness or physique goals

It has helped me see some small positive effects fairly early on into starting taking it. Some small strength increases are the main thing

Ideally you only need supplement it if you ARE training, as otherwise it fails to serve it's purpose

Plenty of positives and very few negatives if any, and many people may not even experience any negatives at all. And those that may occur are very mild

Apart overall from needing to drink a lot more water as it does noticeably increase the bodies hydration demands
