This saddlers stool was given to me by my beautiful girlfriend. After sitting in the corner of the workshop gathering dust as an ornament - I decided to bring it back into service this evening and finish a belt for my brother

Countless war wounds and their subsequent repairs, along with the odd wood worm make it very difficult to say just how old it could be... However, I believe a harness maker like my great grandfather Charles Covell could have repaired a martingale in its jaws 100 years ago. Way back when men went to work in the fields - with those giant horses.

Covell Horsemanship would like to introduce Joey! Now theres a lot of unwanted ponies out there on their last chance and I wish we could save them all... Joeys biggest sin was that hes a British Spotted Pony born with no spots. Fortunately for him, we think this handsome chap is just perfect the colour he is!
Unfortunately for him hes now Covell Horsemanships new model.... 😉

Started to make some spur straps today. Lined with oiled chap leather to make them extra durable, and hold a nice shape over the boot.

Easy tie halters! Great if you tie halters in the dark. Ensures you get the same fit time and time again, and will not tighten up if pulled back on! £25

Been working on this headstall today! Need to find some nice conchos and do a bit more edge work and it will be finished!
Sedgwicks english heavy bridle butt, stainless steel buckles and natural linen thread... the highest quality components I can get. This bridle is simple and built to last.

An evening in the workshop and I got two cheek pieces stitched up! One thing us English can still do is produce the finest quality leather in the world. The Sedgwick's bridle butt I'm using has the most beautiful finish and will withstand a lifetime of wear and tear! 😄

The lovely Cola! The Icelandic x Thoroughbred modelling one of my halters! My design has now changed to an 'easy tie' system. Tie a knot where it best fits, then simply slide the stopper knot up, and it's secured! Easy!
