recently took part in an SGPT session at CTPT.

He didn’t realise at the time but we had him hooked up to some groundbreaking technology that can read his thoughts as he trains.

Here’s what we found:

When he came through the door he was taken back by how personal everything was.

Luke has big Quads

Training with someone else was much more fun than training alone… he even made a friend (We will have to verify this with

Usually Bobby goes to a gym where he isn’t really sure what he is doing. But loved the direction he got from Luke in his session.

Having a coach made it harder to come in and just tick the box - He worked hard.

He did an Iron Man.

He left the gym feeling happy and excited for his next Session 💪

Most people who stop are trying really hard.

Buy the gym membership.
Download the app.
Watch the videos.
Promise yourself this time will be different.

And for a while it is.

Then work gets busy.
The kids need something.
Energy is low.
Motivation disappears.

And because training already felt like an uphill battle, it’s the first thing to go.

It has everything to do with whether the environment is helping you succeed.

Do you actually enjoy it?
Do you feel connected to the people around you?
Do you know you’re making progress?

Because if the answer is no to all three, you’re relying on willpower.

And willpower is a terrible long-term strategy.

The people who stay fit for years aren’t usually the most disciplined.

They’re the people who found a way to make fitness fit into their life.

They enjoy it. Have people around them that care and they understand the plan.

Enjoyment.
Connection.
Or Direction?

“How am I losing weight? I feel like I’m eating more” is a phrase we hear all the time.

The default advice for nutrition is usually:

Eat less.
Cut more out.

And, yes, calories matter.

But what we’ve seen again and again is that a lot of people don’t need to eat less food volume.

They need to eat more of the foods that actually support them.

More protein.
More proper meals.
More whole foods.
More fuel around training.

Because the person who has a tiny breakfast, picks through lunch, snacks all afternoon and then feels starving by the evening is often not “bad at dieting.”

They’re under-fuelled.

Then the weekend comes, restriction turns into overeating, and the overall calories end up higher anyway.

This is why so many people say:

“I feel like I’m eating more.”

And they do.

They’re eating more food that keeps them full, gives them energy and helps them train properly.

The result is usually less grazing, less craving, less all-or-nothing eating and a much better relationship with food.

Good nutrition shouldn’t feel like constantly trying to survive on less.

It should help you feel better, train better and live better.

Most people quit fitness far too early to see what it was actually about.

Because in the beginning, progress rarely feels dramatic.

You don’t suddenly wake up overflowing with confidence.
You don’t instantly become disciplined.
You don’t immediately look in the mirror and see a different person.

Most of the time it’s much quieter than that.

It’s:
Turning up when you can’t really be bothered.
Feeling slightly better after sessions.
Having a bit more energy at work.
Sleeping better.
Laughing more in training.
Feeling your confidence slowly return.
Realising things that once felt difficult now feel normal.

And then one day…

you look back and realise your entire life feels different.

Not because of one workout.
Not because of one perfect month.

But because you kept going.

That’s the bit people underestimate.

Consistency doesn’t just change your fitness.

It changes how you feel about yourself.

And honestly, a lot of the people in these videos are proof of that.

Not perfect people.

Just people who kept showing up long enough to discover what they were actually capable of.

Keep going.

Everyone is looking for the next “best” way to lose weight.

The next hack.
The next challenge.
The next extreme approach that promises faster results.

But having worked with hundreds of people over the years…

the biggest indicator of whether someone actually achieves their goal long term is usually much simpler than that.

Do they enjoy the process?

Not every second of it obviously.
But overall, do they enjoy training?
Do they enjoy the environment?
Do they enjoy the people around them?
Do they enjoy the way they feel while doing it?

Because if they do…

they keep showing up.

And that applies to everything:
Weight loss.
Strength training.
Pain reduction.
Running.
Nutrition.

The people who succeed long term are rarely the people forcing themselves through misery every week.

They’re the people who build a lifestyle they actually like.

That’s why we put so much emphasis on enjoyment at CTPT.

Not because we don’t work hard.

But because enjoying the process is probably the most effective long-term strategy there is.

And if you don’t believe us…

that’s fine.

We’ll wave at you from the tandem bike while you push the boulder uphill 🚲

Calling all runners 🏃

Whether you’re training for a Hyrox, half marathon, marathon, 5k… or just trying to become a better runner…

this one’s for you.

On Sunday 31st May at 9am, we’re hosting a slightly different kind of run club down at Tankerton Slopes.

Hill sprints.

Because whilst most runners KNOW they should probably be doing them…

most runners also avoid them.

Mainly because doing hill sprints on your own isn’t exactly the most exciting way to spend a Sunday morning.

So we thought:
why not do them together?

Hill sprints are one of the best ways to improve:
🏃 Running power
🏃 Speed
🏃 Running economy
🏃 Strength
🏃 Resilience

And when done properly, they’re suitable for pretty much all levels of runner.

This session is open to both members and non-members. We simply wanted to create something that gets good people together doing the sort of training that often gets skipped.

Fitness events can be incredible.
But many people put far too much pressure on their first one.

Somewhere between signing up and race day, people often stop doing the event for the experience… and start doing it for validation.

I cant tell you haw many times I have seen people do their first ATHX, Hyrox, marathon and competition where they crossed the line genuinely upset with themselves…

…despite months earlier not even believing they could do it.”

Your first event doesn’t need to prove anything.

It can simply be:
A marker of growth.
A memory with friends.
A reason to train consistently.
A reminder that you’re capable of difficult things.”

What was your first fitness event?”

18/05/2026

You already understand quality.

If you want an unbelievable meal and personal service…
you probably don’t go to McDonald’s.

You go somewhere local.
Somewhere intentional.
Somewhere that actually cares about the experience… like

If you want a coffee where the barista knows your order and asks how your week’s been…
you probably don’t go somewhere mass-produced.

You go somewhere like

And yet when it comes to fitness…

people often expect high-level results from low-level environments.

No coaching.
No accountability.
No structure.
No personalisation.
No real support.

Just access.

Now don’t get us wrong… there’s absolutely a place for budget gyms.

But if you’re someone who wants:
Better energy.
Consistency.
Confidence.
Long-term progress.
An environment you actually enjoy being in…

then maybe it’s worth holding your fitness to the same standard as the rest of your life.

Because the environment you place yourself in matters.

Probably more than most people realise.

Most gyms give you access.

We give you coaching.

At CTPT, every session is guided.
Every programme is built around you.
And every part of the environment is designed to help you actually stick to it.

Because most people don’t struggle with effort.

They struggle with:
• knowing what to do
• staying consistent
• and doing it alone

This is where that changes.

If you’re looking for something different,
this is it.
