CLUB STATEMENT
from Manager Matthew Hassall
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the club has come to the decision to call it a day, and I will be stepping down as manager. Since taking over the responsibilities of running the club in the 2021/22 season, Chris Thurstance and I set out with one clear goal: to make this club a force in Sunday League football again.
Reuniting with Scott Ambrose as manager, we achieved something truly special. The Quadruple in the 2022/23 season, followed by the Premier League title the year after, marked a period where the club became the team everyone wanted to beat. This season, we proved it once again by winning the Premier League. These achievements will stay with me forever.
A special thank you goes to Sheena and the team at The Littleton for their support, hospitality, and the food after games. Your backing meant more than you know. Thank you to Brian Lester who has always supported us and provided on the ground and facilities.
Thank you to all our sponsors over the years without you, we simply wouldn’t have been able to grow the club into what it became. And to every player who has worn the shirt and been part of the Coggers family, thank you. You helped build something unforgettable.
To everyone who has celebrated our success along the way, you are part of this story too.
This is the club I love and always will. The people, the pub, the community, they make it what it is. I truly hope that in the future someone else starts a team from here, and I wish them every success.
Now it’s time to reflect. With one door closing, another opportunity may open.
Thank you. 💛🖤
