Southend Wheelers Cycling Club was founded in 1923 and caters for cyclists of all ages, abilities and cycling interests offering a wide variety of cycling and social activities to suit anyone with an interest in our sport. This group shares information about Southend Wheelers, past and present, club activities, articles of interest, general cycling information, news alerts from associated cycling

governing bodies and general discussion amongst friends who enjoy cycling. Should you have a grievance against the club, please use the proper communication channels rather than a public post. Women’s Festival of Cycling

Have you ever wondered how fast you could ride a 7-mile TT?

Tomorrow morning, we are holding the final event, a 7-mile time trial, in our week-long Women’s Festival of Cycling.

If you would like to take part, just turn up with your bike, helmet, front & rear working lights.

Date: 13th June
Venue: Shepherd and Dog Pub, Gore Rd, Ballards Gore, Rochford SS4 2DA
Time: 09:00 (sign on 08:20–08:45)
Distance: 7-miles
Cost: £5.00

Course: E36/10
Race HQ: Canewdon Village Hall, SS4 3PG

Entry fees:
Senior non-members £5
U18 non-members £3*

Cash on the day is preferred

*All under-18s will need to complete a parental consent form at sign-on.

HQ will be open from 08:00 to 11:00 with tea & coffee, cake & biscuits available throughout for a donation to club funds.

Remember: A helmet and working front and rear lights are compulsory

We are starting our weeklong Women’s Festival of Cycling with a relaxed, social women-friendly ride out to Foulness Island*, a rare and unique cycling route you won’t want to miss, plus coffee and cake.

Date: Sunday 7th June
Meeting point: St Clements Church, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 1PG
Time: 10:30

*Note: Access to Foulness Island requires individual registration. A £1 fee applies
