Congrats to both our uni IVs crews!! What a brilliant performance guys :)
Well done to the women’s IV on getting through to the semi finals of University IVs!
After just a few outings together we went into the first round against Murray Edwards with confidence and determination. It was a tight race, beating them by just 3 seconds. In the semis we were racing Pembroke, who did beat us. Despite the windier conditions, we rowed well and even did our best race start in the IV yet! Yeah Fitz!
The round of 16 saw a strong start for the M1 4+, who immediately applied pressure on Homerton and established a substantial lead before the race was prematurely halted due to protests. Nonetheless Fitz’s lead was significant enough to be declared winners.
In the quarter-finals, we entered as underdogs against Maggies M1, yet a composed and spirited performance allowed us to hold off their advances and even pull away along the Reach. Despite some confusion among marshals at the finish, Fitz progressed to the semi-finals.
Facing Caius and Lady Margaret in the semis, the crew delivered a powerful and determined row, demonstrating real grit. However, fatigue and an unfortunate crash brought an end to our Uni IV campaign.
Overall, it was an excellent showing from the crew — a series of confident, high-quality performances that proved we could compete with some of the strongest boats on the river.
