Cambridge Dons Goalball Club We're a Goalball team from Cambridge who are always keen to get new players and volunteers involved. The Cambridge Dons are a Goalball team based in Cambridge.

We currently train two Saturday’s per month 12-15.00 @ Cherry Hinton Village Leisure Centre. Please get in touch to find out which Saturdays training is taking place. Although goalball is a paralympic sport played by the blind and visually impaired, domestically it can be played by anyone from totally blind to fully sighted as everyone plays with blackout shades. Two teams of three take it in turn

s to roll a ball with bells in it across a court 18m by 9m in order to score in the goal that stretches the full width of the court. Meanwhile the defending team dives across the court to cover as much as possible in order to block the ball. The sport can get quite fast as the team has 10 seconds to return the ball from the first point of defence. Our team was founded in January 2012 and we currently enter teams into the GoalballUK league at Novice, Intermediate, and elite leagues. The Dons were named Club of the season for their work during the 2020/2021 season. We are always willing to have more people try this out. Just pop along to join in with the disorientating good fun! A huge thank you to Chelmsford Goalball Club for organising such a great friendly tournament on Saturday. We entered two teams and had a great time. In the spirit of the tournament being a bridge between regional and intermediate levels, we had a lot of players who learnt a lot throughout the day. A huge congrats to George Rampley who played for us and got top goalscorer! We’re looking forward to training over the summer and next season now.

A little late from us, but we had a great time at the Goalball UK Regional Sheild tournament in Nottingham over the weekend. We entered a team of four who had not played together in a tournament before and we saw great progress from our team throughout the day. We had a wonderful day at the intermediate tournament yesterday!

We came 5th in the end, winning two games and losing two games. We played well and fought for every minute.

We started the season as a development team and were delighted to welcome members from Chelmsford Goalball Club.

On Saturday, we were a true composite with Catrin from South Wales joining us, who won player of the day! Congrats, Catrin!

You can now secure your place for the This Girl Can Open 2026! This is our annual female-only competition day for women and girls aged 12 and over, here are the key details:

🔵Saturday 14th February 2026, arrival from 9am, departure at 5pm
🔵The Factory Young People's Centre, 5 Devon Way, Birmingham, B31 2TS
🔵It's individual entry, and everyone will be mixed into teams as a chance to get to play with new people. In the sign-up form, you can note someone you would like to be paired with as well.
