Milton Country parkrun event #672 – the one where we only took one uninspired photo 😂 (see comments for our amazing photo!)
Firstly, well done to Andrew (RD this week) who managed to deliver the run briefing without the aid of a microphone. A quick reminder to everyone - please listen to the run briefing every week. Not only is it important to help keep everyone safe but it’s also part of the parkrun ethos where we celebrate runners and volunteer’s achievements. Thank you!
It felt like an almost perfect morning in the park this morning; sunny but not too hot, dry underfoot but not yet dusty. A great morning to welcome the 11 of you that completed your very first parkrun – well done. Congratulations also to James on his 10th, Megan and Natalie on their 25th and Joseph on his 100th. Shoutout also to Mike Joycroft, who is a regular at Milton and completed his 350th run. He overtook me today pushing a double buggy with 4-year-olds in while trying to keep up alongside a speedy Maddy (who it looks like she sprinted off and left him for dust on the finish straight!).
Congratulations to the 54 of you who ran a personal best this week. Special mentions to Kate and James, from Norfolk Gazelles AC, who both grabbed a PB of 27:29! Well done to everyone who got a PB of any sort this week – be it the return to running PB, the post injury or post child PB or even a buggy running PB, they all count in my book!
Finally, thank you to the 22 hi-vis heroes this week. There are lots of empty spots on the roster over the next few weeks. If you haven’t yet supported Milton Country Parkrun in a non-running role so far this year, why not grab the opportunity now?
Have a great week everyone,
Julia your dyslexic run reporter
p.s – if you took any better picture than us this morning, please feel free to share them!
