FULL-TIME STABLE HAND / GROUND WORKER
Location: Tauwhare (Cambridge)
Employment: Full-time
Start date: August
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Stable Hand / Ground Worker to join our boutique racing stable.
This is a full-time position working alongside our team to help with the daily care of our racehorses and the general running and maintenance of the property.
The role will include:
Daily care and handling of racehorses
Feeding, watering and general stable duties
Mucking out boxes and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
Grooming and preparing horses
Turning horses out and bringing them in
General ground work and property maintenance
Mowing, weed-eating and maintaining lawns and paddocks
Fencing repairs and general farm maintenance
Washing trucks, floats and equipment
Helping with general tasks around the racing stable as required
The ideal person will:
Have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Have good attention to detail and take pride in their work
Be physically fit and comfortable with hard, outdoor work
Be confident and experienced handling horses
Have previous experience in a racing stable, equestrian environment or farming
Be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
Have a current driver’s licence
Previous experience with racehorses is preferred, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
