It’s astounding! Time is fleeting! And we’re ready to do the Time Warp... on skates!

On the 10th October, the Cambridge Rollerbillies are bringing together skaters from far and wide for two gloriously camp, chaotic and competitive mixed-team roller derby bouts.

GAME 1: A VERY BAD NIGHT (lower intermediate/rookie - aligned to 5Nations Tier 5)

Frank-N-Furters vs The Riff Raff

Expect hard skating, questionable decisions, ridiculous outfits and a healthy dose of Rocky Horror nonsense. You don’t need to be a Rocky Horror superfan but if you fancy arriving in fishnets, gold, glitter or your finest Frank-N-Furter realness, we absolutely encourage it.

Skaters from any league are welcome for this WFTDA-aligned bout. Teams will be mixed up after sign-ups, so come ready to make some new friends, enemies and possibly both.

Location: Main Hall - Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre, Cambridge

Open to everyone age 18+

Key Dates:
Sunday 13th September- from 3:30pm
👋 Meet and Greet: witness the Rollerbillies on track, chat to the team and ask any questions you have.

🎟️ Monday 14th September - 8pm - Tickets go on sale via email

🛼 Sunday 20th September 3-5pm - First session

THE COURSE
The course runs for 11 weeks every Sunday at Kelsey Kerridge.
You will learn: how to skate with stability and fall safely, how to stop and turn, safely make contact with other skaters and the fundamentals of playing Roller Derby.
You don’t need any prior experience and we can lend you kit if you don’t have your own (*Subject to availability).

COST: £55 - just £5 per session!
Kit hire is available for an additional deposit of £50, which is refunded on the safe return of the items at the end of the course. If the cost of the course is a barrier to your participation, please reach out to us. We have options available to ensure that Roller Derby is accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

Good News!
We are always delighted to have folks join us as officials - both on and off skates - and as volunteers. It takes a whole crew of committed people to make Roller Derby happen.

The beginners course is suitable if you want to learn to skate, or brush up on the basics. If you can already skate and want to join us as an on-skates official, get in touch at: [email protected]

Due to the popularity of the course, we cannot guarantee a spot for everyone but we do run beginners’ courses regularly so follow our page and check back for more course announcements.

We are devastated to share the news of the passing of our oldest (in dog years) league member, Pepper. Pepper was rescued from Woodgreen Pets Charity after the charity got in contact with the league by Mrs and Mr Sweetness & Fight Allison Holloway James Edward Holloway in 2019, and she has been a core member of the league ever since.

We reckon she clocked up more committee hours than most of us, and she was a staple of every Rollerbillies after-party over the last seven years. We’re sure lots of you met her at the The Blue Moon or at our various events, so please send some love their way and share your best memories of her below.

She was, and will always be, the bestest girl.

At a loose end next bank holiday? We are opening up our usual Sunday scrim to all our friends and neighbours on Sunday 30th August! We will be hosting at our home track at Kelsey Kerridge sports centre in central Cambridge.

The scrim is open to everyone. We will be running 4 20 minute quarters, and if numbers are high enough we can run rookie and advanced lines. We will also ask people to offer to ref/officiate one quarter of the scrim too. The scrim is £5 or whatever you can offer to pay. Anyone who wants to referee or officiate is welcome to join for free!

This will be a very relaxed and fun scrim. Arrival from 1.45pm to kit up outside the hall.
