After 6 incredible years as Lead Coach of the Colts, the time has come for me to step away from the role.
Together we’ve navigated COVID, built a programme focused on developing better people as well as better rugby players, consistently fielded two competitive teams across the Eastern Counties, won 3 County Cups and reached 5 finals in 6 years — something everyone involved should be hugely proud of.
Thank you to the club for the opportunity, to the parents and wider support network for the constant backing, to the coaches who laid the foundations before me, and most importantly to the players for their effort, dedication, smiles, tears, and memories along the way.
I’ve been offered a new coaching opportunity alongside pursuing a Masters degree and family life, and I don’t feel I can give this group the time it deserves moving forward.
Stepping away slightly from a club that has been such a huge part of my life as both player and coach is not easy. I’ve made friendships for life and hope to remain part of the club’s story in the future.
Finally, thank you for supporting not just me, but my family too. My kids will miss serving behind the bar and telling Rob, “Dad will pay for the hot choccy later!” And a special thank you to Marsha for always helping with the kids while I was busy on the sidelines.
What a journey 🦚 ❤️🏉
