Today we proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone — the promotion of Sensei Mealing to 9th Dan (Red belt)within the British Judo Council, the highest grade ever awarded. This is not just a rank, but a reflection of a lifetime dedicated to the art, spirit, and discipline of judo.

Sensei Mealing stands as a true inspiration to generations — an influential leader whose guidance has shaped countless journeys on and off the mat. His humility, honesty, and unwavering commitment to the values of judo define not only his legacy, but the very heart of the BJC.

On his remarkable 98th birthday, we honour not just his achievement, but the man himself — a living legend whose wisdom, strength, and quiet dignity continue to inspire us all.

Today Amaya, Enzo and Muhammad travelled to Bristol to katana kai's judo competition.
After a 4.30 start all kids had a fantastic day and gaining invaluable experience

Welsh regionals schools!
A long day with a long wait from weigh in to his category and then a long wait in-between fights because of technical issues.

Alby had a strong start with two quick wins, lost his 3rd and then went on to win his 4th. Unfortunately the person he lost to had a by so Albys 4th fight was for bronze.

Not quite firing on all cylinders with having to wait so long but a really good day.

Also a huge huge thank to C&S Academy Judo who stepped in to coach Alby today. Such a great support, kind encouraging, we are so grateful.
