At Camborne RFC, our proudest achievements happen when community spirit and local dedication come together.

For years, JDS Properties and Developments Ltd has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Cherry & Whites, helping us build our success both on and off the pitch.

Deeply rooted right here in the heart of Cornwall, JDS is far more than just a name on our shirts, they are a vital part of the Camborne RFC family.

Founded by David and Jonathan Rogers, the company’s legacy of hard work and community pride continues stronger than ever under the leadership of Jonathan Rogers.

From their base in Pool, JDS has earned a reputation across Cornwall as a premier, full-service building contractor. Whether they are crafting bespoke renovations or bringing major new builds to life, they do it by employing a skilled, dedicated team of local Cornish tradesmen. Their commitment to quality, safety, and local talent mirrors the exact values we strive for every time we lace up our boots.

But it is their long-standing, unwavering support as one of our Main Club Sponsors that we celebrate today. In an era where sports sponsorships can be fleeting, JDS has been a rock-solid foundation for the club.

During the summer of 2025, JDS, along with their trusted contractors (many of them also club sponsors), completed the refurbishment of the changing rooms under the stand and rebuilt our aging toilet block. These works, as ever, were completed to the high standard we required in a timely manner carding as little disruption to the club users as possible.

Their multi-year commitments have proudly placed the JDS logo across the chests of our senior men’s 1st XV and 2nd XV playing kits season after season. This reliable, generous backing does so much more than just provide kits, it gives our club the financial stability required to compete fiercely in the National Leagues. It allows us to keep rugby thriving in Cornwall, to nurture grassroots talent, and to give our passionate supporters a team they can be proud of every single weekend.

Thank you to the entire team at JDS Properties & Developments Ltd. for your years of loyal sponsorship, your shared passion for the game and your enduring commitment to Camborne RFC. We are incredibly proud to run out with you on our shirts, and we look forward to building on this fantastic partnership for many more years to come.

Camborne RFC are thrilled to announce that homegrown powerhouse and club legend, Tommy-Lee Southworth has re-signed for the upcoming season, heading into his 11th senior campaign at The Rec.

Tommy-Lee is the ultimate "one-club man." Having progressed all the way through the Town’s M&J section into the senior ranks, he achieved a massive career milestone in December 2025 by making his 200th senior appearance for Cherry & Whites.

Described by Head Coach Tom Kessell as the "heart and soul of the club," the formidable loosehead prop is highly regarded for his aggressive scrummaging style, his knack for putting opposing tightheads on the back foot, and a relentless work rate at the breakdown.

Beyond his club exploits, Southworth is a proud, regular representative for Cornwall, earning multiple caps for the Duchy in the Bill Beaumont Cup. As the club continues its charge up the rugby pyramid, having our local anchor in the front row is a massive boost.

“I’m pleased to share that I have re-signed with Camborne RFC going into my 11th senior season. What a journey it’s been from South West 1 to now National 1. Seeing the growth of my hometown club is something I’m very proud of and I can’t wait for the challenge ahead, especially after a long period out with injury.
I’m very grateful for the support from the players, coaches, and everybody within Camborne RFC who have made my decision so easy to make.”

At Camborne RFC, our proud history is inseparable from the landscape around us. For generations, the Cherry & Whites have run out onto the pitch carrying the grit, resilience, and community spirit of Cornwall’s mining heartland. It is fitting, then, that one of our longest-standing and most vital partnerships is with an organisation that understands the literal and cultural foundations of our town better than anyone else, Groundsure

Groundsure is a national leader in location intelligence and environmental data, providing the essential reports that protect homebuyers and land developers across the UK. But their connection to Cornwall is deeply personal. Following their acquisition of the historic local institution Mining Searches UK, Groundsure established a major regional hub at the Pool Innovation Centre. Today, their team of local geologists and environmental engineers manage an unrivalled archive of historical mine plans, working daily to map and protect the subterranean legacy that shaped our community.

For over a decade, Groundsure has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Camborne RFC as a principal sponsor. This is far more than a corporate logo on a shirt; it is a decade-long investment in the social fabric of our town. The mining communities of Camborne and Redruth have always known the value of teamwork and looking out for one another, and Groundsure’s support directly fuels that mission.

Their backing ripples through every corner of the club. In an era where operating and travel costs can weigh heavily on grassroots sport, Groundsure’s partnership has provided the financial stability that allowed our Men's First XV to climb the national leagues and compete at the highest levels of the English rugby pyramid. Just as importantly, their funding breathes life into our thriving youth and mini sections, ensuring that local boys and girls from the age of four upward have a safe, structured, and welcoming place to learn the game. It has also helped champion the growth of our Women's team, expanding rugby's reach across the entire community.

From the depths of Cornwall's historic mines to the top of the league tables, Groundsure and Camborne RFC share a commitment to safeguarding our local heritage while building a brighter, stronger future for the next generation. We are incredibly proud to have them in our corner, and we look forward to uncovering new successes together, both on and off the field.
