Bickford Smith Bowls Club Bickford Smith Bowls club is a friendly lawn bowls club in Camborne, Cornwall. We have a wide range of ages playing within the club from 10 years old up to 80+.

Bickford Smith lawn bowls club currently has 3 men's league teams and a ladies section within the club. We also have inter club competitions and play loads of friendly games throughout the season against over homes, both home and away. We are open to existing players, new players or those who just fancy having a go at the game, all are welcome. The club is looked after by a committee as well as sub committees for smaller projects.

Unfortunately the Howard Strutt tournament will now be played next weekend. This is due to the weather conditions today and the forecast for tomorrow

Sadly the B team have been left with no option but to withdraw from the Double Rink League for the rest of this season. This is due to us having such a small number of members that is currently depleted due to illness and other reasons. With DRL games needing to be rearranged the club finds itself unable to fulfil both A and B team fixtures on the same evening.

The B team managed to win at home against Penzance yesterday evening. The overall shots score was 56-53 with the points total finishing 3-2 in favour of Bickford Smith.

The B team are next in action tomorrow evening when Hayle visit us for a WCBL fixture. The game starts at 6pm.

The A team are playing away at Camborne this evening in a CBL fixture (6.15pm start), before facing St Ives at home on Thursday 6th (6.15pm). That afternoon the Ladies have a game starting at 1.30pm away at Penlee.

To finish the weeks games the B team are away at Holmans on Friday 7th. This game will be a MDBL fixture which starts at 6.15pm

A big thank you to Tim and the team at Pyrocheck Fire Door and Property Maintenance for sorting this for us.

It has been a challenge for both us and them, but they have been so helpful. We are very grateful to them.

Looking forward to the start of the outdoor season in April to be able to have full use of these new facilities

Well the annual Bickford Smith Bowls Club Howard Strutt open pairs competition is complete.

An amazing two days, filled with great bowls played, plenty of laughs and friends catching up/making new connections.

The main competition was won by Nicola Brazier & Neil Brazier in a tight final against Peter Thomas & Lewis Thomas

The plate was won by Paul Stokes & Keith Taylor in another close battle against Don Haley & Tony Wilkes

A huge thank you to all who came to play, the standard of the competition was incredibly good. Thanks to those watching and supporting the players. Thanks to those in the kitchen for sorting the refreshments and to Wendy Parkyn for sorting the raffle.

A massive thanks to Francis who has sorted the competition and ensured it went to plan from the off.
