💚⛳ THANK A GREENKEEPER DAY ⛳💚

Today we want to take a moment to recognise the people who put so much into making our course what it is.

A huge THANK YOU to our brilliant greenkeeping team — Matt, Dean, Mark and Ian.

The time, dedication, hard work and passion these four put into the course day in, day out is incredible. Much of what they do happens behind the scenes, often long before many of us have even started our day.

And all that hard work is really paying dividends. 👏

The condition and continued improvement of the course is a real credit to them. They care deeply about what they do, take enormous pride in the course and are constantly working to make it the very best it can be for our members and visitors.

We’d also like to give a very special mention to our fantastic volunteers — Tricky, Mark, Ken and David — who generously give up their own time to help the team and support the work out on the course.

That willingness to muck in and help makes a genuine difference, and it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you, lads — your contribution is hugely appreciated. 💚

It takes a lot of people, a lot of hours and a huge amount of effort to produce a golf course we can all be proud of.

⛳ Investing in Our Course – The 18th Hole

To complete our look at the three holes included in the current bunker renovation programme, we move on to our 18th hole — and some exciting changes to the finish of the course.

Working once again with golf course architect Marc Westenborg and 360 Groundcare, we’ve taken the opportunity to reshape and rethink the bunkering around our final hole.

One of the most noticeable additions is a new fairway bunker on the left-hand side. In addition to adding another strategic element to the hole, we think this will make a real visual difference and greatly improve the view from the 18th tee, giving our finishing hole even more character.

Around the green, we've completely rede@signed the left-hand bunker, creating a much stronger feature within the green complex.

The front-right bunker has also been completely redesigned, with the surrounding areas reprofiled to help the new shapes and contours sit naturally within the hole.

At the back right of the green, the existing bunker has been removed and replaced with a swale area, introducing a different challenge for shots missing the green in that direction and adding further interest to the surrounds.

As with the work on the 5th and 7th, the new bunkers feature an EcoBunker Ltd liner system with EcoBunker Ltdr tiles forming the edges. This will help us reduce contamination of the bunker sand, improve drainage and provide a more durable solution for the future.

There is still plenty of work ahead, with turfing due to begin in a couple of weeks’ time, followed by the all-important establishment and growing-in period. However, the new shapes are already giving us a great indication of how our finishing hole will look once everything is complete.

A huge thank you to 360 Groundcare, Marc Westenborg, our greenkeeping team and our fantastic volunteers for all the hard work and extra hours that have gone into the 18th and the wider project across all three holes.

The work on the 5th, 7th and 18th represents an important investment in the continued improvement of our course, and we’re really excited to see how all three holes look and play once the new areas have fully established.

And this is only the beginning…

We can’t wait to share more about the next stage of our course improvements as the plans develop.
