Bacon baps are ready!! Pop up this morning more the merrier to help us get everything done 🪺😋

The cricket season has come end but the work doesn’t stop. Our end of season work starts next Saturday!

Please try and come along and help out. The more we get helping the quicker everything gets done.

Part 1 - Saturday 5th September from 10am:
▪️Take down nets
▪️Put covers away
▪️Sort all garages and sheds
▪️Tidy all training and youth kit
▪️Put seats away
▪️Fix scoreboard shutter
▪️Fix tap surround on the outfield
▪️Plus plenty of other stuff

Part 2 - Date TBC:
▪️Scarifiy the square
▪️Blow/brush out thatch and collect
▪️Place loam
▪️Drag mat
▪️Fertilise and seed
▪️Fence off

Well, we tried!
Unfortunately the weather got the better of our first 6-a-side competition, but we did manage to get some cricket in!
Thank you to all of the 8 teams who played and everyone else who came out and supported the day, despite the dodgy forecast!

The competition was all in aid of our fundraiser to install and artificial wicket at the ground to support the growth of our Youth and Women’s teams. We hope you’re all looking forward to the first Beacon 6-a-side softball tournament!

Club Captain Ben James has the trophy ready so get your team names ready!
We’re hoping the showers stay away, and we can get a full days cricket in.

The club will be open for player sign up at 10:30. The first game will be starting at 11.
Refreshments will available all day, the bbq will be on and the bar will be open serving all your favourites!

FIRST XI OFF ☔ A heavy shower in Newquay has put an end to any hope of play.

Meanwhile the Seconds host Leedstown and are hoping for a delayed start.

🏏💚 HELP US KEEP CRICKET GROWING AT BEACON 💚🏏
We are growing year after year and we want to make sure we can continue providing opportunities for everyone. We currently have:

👦👧 6 youth age groups supporting 100+ boys and girls aged 5–16

🏏 A growing women’s section, who competed in the softball league for the first time last year.

🏏 3 men’s teams, including a midweek team and two Saturday teams.

That’s a LOT of cricket! 🏏🔥
With so many teams and fixtures, our square and groundsman are under increasing pressure. To help us continue to grow and develop all our teams, we are raising money to install an artificial wicket.
An artificial wicket will help us cope with the number of games being played, protect our square and, most importantly, provide even more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play cricket at Beacon.

If you can help, any donation big or small would be hugely appreciated.
Every contribution will help us get closer to our target and secure the future of cricket at Beacon Cricket Club.
