✨ First week back! 🩰

What a lovely (and very busy!) first week we’ve had 🤍

It’s been so nice having everyone back in the studios, hearing all the stories from the summer and lots of very excited updates about starting school! 🥹 We’ve had dancers moving up into their new classes, lots of new faces joining us, new classes starting and new teachers joining the Steren team too.

Nutcracker rehearsals are well and truly underway 🎄, show costumes are starting to appear everywhere (with plenty of sparkle!) and it’s all beginning to feel very real now!

Mostly though, it’s just been really lovely seeing everyone again. Friends back together, dancers settling into their new groups and lots of excitement for everything we’ve got coming up this term.

✨ A little Nutcracker excitement this morning! ✨

Miss Jess and our wonderful Clara, Lexi, had such a lovely time chatting with Anoushka Williams this morning all about our upcoming production of Clara & The Nutcracker! 🩰🎄

We talked about bringing this magical ballet to life, what it’s like for Lexi to take on the very special role of Clara, and just how much is going on behind the scenes as our cast of over 90 dancers prepares for December. ❄️✨

🦢 BRAND NEW THIS SEPTEMBER — SILVER SWANS® BALLET

Something new is taking flight at Steren this September… ✨

We’re delighted to be introducing RAD Silver Swans® ballet classes to Steren School of Ballet for the very first time, with four brand-new classes to choose from each week.

Silver Swans® classes have been specially designed with older learners in mind. Whether you danced when you were younger, have always dreamed of trying ballet, or have never danced a step before, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Ballet is a beautiful way to keep active while working on balance, mobility, coordination and musicality — all in a friendly, supportive environment where you can enjoy learning something new and meeting others. 🩰

Choose from four brand-new weekly classes:

🦢 Monday | 11:30–12:30
🦢 Wednesday | 09:30–10:30
🦢 Thursday | 18:00–19:00
🦢 Friday | 10:00–11:00

🦢✨ NANCEGOLLAN | SILVER SWANS® IS TAKING FLIGHT WITH STEREN ✨🦢

This autumn, our Silver Swans® are taking flight, as Steren brings these beautiful ballet classes out into communities across Cornwall — beginning in Nancegollan. 🤍

Developed by the Royal Academy of Dance, Silver Swans® classes are specially designed for older learners and taught by trained Silver Swans® Licensees.

Using ballet technique alongside beautiful music and flowing movement, classes are designed to support mobility, balance, coordination and strength, while offering all the artistry and enjoyment you would expect from a ballet class.

And you absolutely do not need to have danced before. Whether ballet has been part of your life for years, you’re returning after some time away, or you’re stepping up to the barre for the very first time, you’ll be warmly welcomed. 🩰

At Steren School of Ballet, our Little Stars Ballet programme is completely unique to Steren. We’ve created our own bespoke Early Years ballet syllabus, carefully designed in line with the EYFS Framework, blending child development with the timeless beauty of classical ballet.

Each week, children journey through enchanting ballet stories and adaptations, dancing to beautiful classical ballet music while exploring a world of imagination through enchanting props, sensory resources and creative play.

A very special Steren moment happening right now 🥹🩰✨

Our lovely Thea is currently at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, taking part in a Claudia Dean masterclass!

For those who don’t know, Claudia Dean is a former professional ballerina with The Royal Ballet, who now coaches and mentors dancers around the world through Claudia Dean World. Having the opportunity to learn from someone with that level of professional experience is incredibly exciting. 🩰✨

And this one feels particularly special to Miss Jess, as Thea is dancing in the very same RAD studios where she trained during her Ballet Education degree. 🤍

There’s something so lovely about seeing one of your own dancers, who you’ve watched grow and develop, now dancing in the studios that played such a big part in your own training and journey as a teacher.

We love encouraging our dancers to experience opportunities beyond Cornwall — learning from different teachers, being inspired by other dancers and experiencing new environments alongside their training at Steren.

Thea works so hard in her own dancing and is also one of our wonderful teaching assistants, inspiring our younger dancers each week. We hope she’s soaking up every second of today!
