Swimming Teacher Vacancy.
Purpose of Job: To teach a range of aquatic skills to both individuals and small groups using the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS).

Key Responsibilities:
• To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans.
• Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly and to operate within Health & Safety guidelines and undertake risk assessments.
• For the duration of the lesson to instruct, provide feedback and encouragement to participants and to record students' progress.
• To welcome all participants in a professional and friendly manner.
• To prepare effectively for sessions.
• To log and report any incidents/accidents or any other concerns to the Director of Swimming,.
• Attend regular training and updates (Compulsory).
• Liaise with the Director of Swimming on pupils’ progress.
• Assess new pupils as required outside of planned normal lessons.
• Communicate with swimmers and parents of all swimmers updating them on progress and development.
• To constantly update, manage and complete the students' progress tracker using either a mobile application or written skills record sheet.
• Teach with full regard to H&S coordinating and communicating with other teachers’ assistants and lifeguards on the pupils in a class and supervision required.
• Report any safety concerns or health and safety issues to the Director of Swimming
• Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques.
• Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance.
• To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.

• Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates and badges.
• To attend regular meetings with the Director of Swimming as and when necessary.
• To undertake any additional duties as may be required by the Director of Swimming

General Duties

• To arrive in good time before the lesson start time and to ensure facilities are set up appropriately.
• To ensure the lesson programs are safe and appropriate to the needs/abilities of the participants involved and provide supervision and assistance to all participants.
• Present and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner with courtesy and regard for others.
• Arrange cover for any planned absence and inform Director of Swimming of the changes in good time.
• Wear suitable clothing for teaching when in the water and uniform when out of water or when leaving or arriving on site.
• Attend progress and award meetings.
• Maintain your qualifications, ensuring they are up to date and relevant.
• Attend team meeting training session /employee review sessions/ CPD courses as recommended.
• Set up and put away any equipment needed for lessons.

We are currently recruiting reliable and dedicated Level 2 swimming teachers for our expanding swimming school in Camberley, Surrey.

You will be teaching swimming on a private and semi private basis only in a private and exclusive swimming pool.
You will teach both in the water and on the poolside.
Hours: Monday from 3.30 - 6.30 (term time only).

You may be employed or self employed. We are flexible in respect of your employment status.
Salary: £20 - £25ph depending on candidate, experience and qualifications.
Potential candidate must:
- be qualified to ASA / STA Level 2 or above,
- hold a valid rescue test certificate or RLSS pool lifeguard qualification,
- be able to communicate excellently with children and their parents
- have a true love and passion for swimming with a friendly and caring personality
Start from September 2019.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £20.00 to £25.00 /hour
