Frimley Lodge Park is a 24 hectare site in Surrey Heath, maintained by Surrey Heath Borough Council, that boasts a range of facilities for all ages, and hosts events for all the family. Its unspoilt natural beauty and character continues to attract large numbers of visitors to its woodland and open space, picnic areas, two children's playgrounds, a trim trail, miniature railway and meadows. There are also football and cricket pitches and a pitch and putt course available to hire. The Basingstoke canal runs along the eastern boundary with a towpath and lots of space, woodland, cafeteria, miniature railway and pitch & putt course. Frimley Lodge Park is a very attractive venue for everyone looking for quiet recreation or organised activity. There is a resident Parks Officer and the Council's contractors provide fulltime attendance. Our Parks Officer also works with volunteers and provides a programme of educational walks and events. UPDATE: These works have been cancelled by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks so the park and facilities will be open as usual tomorrow

On Wednesday 9 September there will be no power at the park between 9am-5pm due to essential overhead cable works by SSE Networks.

This will affect facilities including Frimley Lodge Cafe, Frimley Lodge Miniature Railway, the toilets, function room and changing rooms.

As a result the cafe, toilets and function room will be closed, and the 3G pitch will not be available for bookings between 9am-5pm. Evening bookings should not be affected.

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by these essential works.

🙂With the school holidays in full swing, we're pleased to see so many children enjoying the park!

🛝We love seeing young people using the great facilities at the Lodge, including the play areas.

🙏We do have a request though - the wheelchair swing is meant to be only for the use of those in wheelchairs. There are clear signs up explaining this, but groups of children have been climbing over the fence to that area and using the swing.

❌Wheelchair users and their families shouldn't have to ask others to stop using the swing so they can access it.

🙋We're asking you as the adults accompanying children to the park to please explain to them that this equipment is only for people in wheelchairs to use, and to help them respect that rule - there are so many other fun things they can play on in the park!

💚Thank you for helping us keep the playground a welcoming and inclusive place for all.

The next contestant on Things We Didn't Think We Would Have To Ask People Not To Do...

Whoever thought this was a good idea.

❌ Open fires and BBQs are NOT ALLOWED on the Basingstoke Canal towpath or picnic areas at any time of year. Clearly even more of an issue when everything is tinder dry during a hot summer.

Placing not one but two disposable BBQs on to one of our lock balance beams, and then leaving them there to burn out, and start to burn through the wooden beam, is unbelievably irresponsible.

Please respect the canal, including its structures, wildlife and all users.

Thank you.
