People always ask what the best form of cardio is… treadmill? Assault bike? Burpees?

Wrong. It’s apparently spending the day with Jordan at Down To Earth Dog Care! 🐶😂

Our Ronnie heads off on adventures with Jordan twice a week and honestly, he comes back looking like he’s completed a Hyrox event. Muddy, happy, and absolutely shattered!

On a serious note, there’s nobody we trust more. Jordan loves Ronnie like he’s her own, and as dog owners that’s all we could ever ask for. ❤️

TEAM SPOTLIGHT: KATY 👋

Katy has been part of The Zone for almost three years, and whilst her qualifications, knowledge and experience have continued to grow, so has her collection of tattoos… and her hair colour journey! 🤣

When Katy first joined us, she was blonde, with just a couple of tattoos and a passion for helping people.

Then came the pink hair era… along with a few more tattoos.

After falling pregnant, the tattoos took a little pause, and went brunette, but not her dedication to supporting our members and creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Once maternity leave was over, the pink hair returned, another tattoo appeared, and Katy picked up right where she left off.

Fast forward to today and she’s now proudly rocking The Zone orange 🧡 (along with, yes, another tattoo).

Hair colours and tattoo count aside, one thing that has never changed is Katy’s commitment to her clients and her own development. She’s constantly looking for ways to enhance her knowledge and is currently working towards her Pre & Postnatal qualification, inspired by her own experience of motherhood.

When we showed Katy this video, her response was: “This is basically a promo for ADHD.” 😂 And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

Her energy is infectious, she’s always up for a chat, she makes everyone feel welcome, and she’s a huge part of the inclusive, supportive community we’ve built here at The Zone.

Whether you’re taking your first steps into fitness or chasing your next big goal, Katy will be there cheering you on every step of the way.

HAPPY 30TH TO OUR KATY 🥳

For over two years has been a huge part of The Zone, bringing energy, laughter and plenty of chaos to the gym floor! 💪😂

Whether she’s helping members smash their goals, keeping us all entertained, or somehow finding new and inventive ways to injure yourself, there’s never a dull moment when you’re around! 🤕🤣

Thank you for everything you do and for being such a valued part of The Zone. We hope your 30th birthday is as fun, memorable and chaotic as you are!

HALFWAY THROUGH 2026… HOW ARE YOU DOING? 👀

We’re already in June, which means we’re halfway through the year.

Back in January, many of us set goals to lose weight, get fitter, get stronger, improve our health, or simply make more time for ourselves.

Maybe you’re exactly where you hoped you’d be.

Maybe you’re ahead of where you thought you’d be.

Or maybe life got in the way, and you’re not quite where you wanted to be.

And that’s okay.

At The Zone Callington, we see it all the time. People start the year full of motivation, but then work gets busy, family commitments take over, routines change, and fitness slips down the priority list. (And to be honest that is exactly me and in all honesty I have not trained on the Gym floor within the last couple of weeks, and that’s okay because we’re human and I’ve recognise this and I’m gonna make a switch and make sure I bring the habits of going into the gym Gym back)

The important thing to remember is this:

👉 You haven’t failed.
👉 You’re not starting from scratch.
👉 And it’s definitely not too late.

There are still 6 months left in the year. That’s 6 months to build strength, improve your fitness, create healthier habits, and feel more confident in yourself.

Instead of focusing on what’s gone, focus on what you can do from today:

✅ Get back to one or two classes a week
✅ Go to the gym 2 times a week, even if it’s just for half an hour
✅ Increase your daily steps
✅ Prioritise your sleep and hydration
✅ Focus on consistency over perfection
✅ Ask for support when you need it

Remember, fitness isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, doing what you can, and keeping going even when life gets busy.

And if you’re feeling stuck, that’s exactly why we’re here.

Whether you need help with your training, accountability, nutrition, goal setting, or simply a bit of motivation, our team is always happy to help.

It’s completely normal to have days where you think, ‘I really don’t want to go to the gym today.’ 🧠

A lot of people believe fitness comes from motivation, but psychology actually shows that long term progress is built through habits and consistency, not motivation alone.

The more you repeat a behaviour, even on the hard days, the more your brain begins to recognise it as part of your routine. Over time, what once felt difficult starts to feel automatic. That’s how habits are formed.
