The Senior Gents had their first match against Grangemouth today and were very lucky with the weather, not as bad as forecasted,

The result was a win for Callander 2.5 to 1.5

Match 1 - Callander won 3&1
Match 2 - Match all Square
Match 3 - Callander won 4&3
Match 4 - Grangemouth won 2up

Hi Folks, an update and pictures of recent work from the course.
The greens were fertilised a couple of weeks ago and we are now seeing the benefits of this along side the thatch/moss removal. At the start of the season all the greens were dominated by moss, some greens consisted of more moss than grass unfortunately. As we are gradually reducing the moss, it is inevitable that we have thin areas until the grass fills in. We are carrying out light aeration and seeding on the thinner areas but in general the greens have improved massively and will continue to do so.
We recently had a load of divot mix delivered. This season we are making a concerted effort to keep the teeing grounds in better condition than previous seasons. Divots are now filled on a regular basis and the divot boxes are in place on the higher wear rate tees. To enhance and aid the recovery from wear and tear the tees were fertilised last week too.
Work on the pathways is continuing. Certain paths are being widened as they have grown in over recent times. New material is being added as required, any over hanging branches removed and worn areas seeded/fenced off.
The bunkers have seen some maintenance recently, all were flymo’d and Round Up sprayed around the edges to keep them neat and tidy, this eliminates the need for time consuming repetitive edging.
