Disappointing headline from our National Championships.

Says a lot about ‘fans’ of the sport getting out of hand and apparently alcohol being the source of the problem.

It is right that someone who is found to be rude or aggressive to anyone else in the venue is ejected and banned from returning.

Any evidence to support them being a member from or supporter of a particular club, needs taking up with the said club too.

Let’s try and be better, and kinder to each other.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 – 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁

Unfortunately, there have been a number of cases of unacceptable conduct by visitors to the National Championships over the past two days. We want everyone to enjoy the Championships in a safe and friendly manner.

Unacceptable behaviour including foul language, abuse and threats to volunteers, officials, staff, stewards or contractors will not be tolerated. If necessary, offenders will be ejected from the event and will not be permitted re-admission for the duration of the Championships.

The arrangements in place to control the flow of alcohol between the licensed areas of Bowls Scotland and Northfield Bowling Club are in place to ensure that both organisations are in compliance with the terms of our licenses. This is a shared arrangement that has been agreed between Bowls Scotland and Northfield Bowling Club, in consultation with South Ayrshire Council. Unacceptable behaviour towards the stewards at the entry/ exit points between the two areas will not be tolerated and may lead to ejection from the event site, with no re-admission.
